Folie a deux Productions and From Ground Up Theatre Company in association with Sheffield Theatres today announce the full cast for Kieran Knowles' Operation Crucible.

The Hypocrites will conclude its 2015-16 Season with the world premiere of JOHANNA FAUSTUS, co-adapted by Emily Casey and Artistic Director Sean Graney from Christopher Marlowe's The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus and directed by Graney. JOHANNA FAUSTUS will play a limited engagement now through May 29, 2016 at The Den Theatre's Heath Main Stage, 1329 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood. The press opening is tonight, May 20 at 8 pm, and BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

Poetry Is Productions presents the Poetry Is Theatre festival, featuring the world premieres of world premieres of 'Medea' by Catherine Theis and 'Phaedra, Released.' by Robert Eric Shoemaker.

Coinciding with the Season 6 premiere of Game of Thrones, Kit Harington opened in the title role of DOCTOR FAUSTUS at Duke of York's Theatre in the West End last night. Jamie Lloyd's contemporary take on Marlowe's play features modern additions by Colin Teevan, replacing the contested middle section, designs by Soutra Kilmour, sound design by Ben and Max Ringham, and movement by Polly Bennett. The cast also includes Jenna Russell as Mephistopheles, Jade Anouka (Wagner), Tom Edden (Good Angel), Danielle Flett (Valdes), Brian Gilligan (Cornelius), Forbes Masson (Lucifer) and Craig Stein (Evil Angel) and ensemble member Gabby Wong.

Doctor Faustus is arguably Christopher Marlowe's best-loved and most well known play. What would we give to get whatever we wanted? In Marlowe's production, Faustus literally sells his soul to the devil in order to gain knowledge. However Jamie Lloyd's adaptation gives it a more modern twist.

Austin Durant, Reggie Gowland, Chris Myers, Rachel Nicks, Michele Shay, Lance Coadie Williams, and Charlayne Woodard will be featured in the upcoming LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater production of WAR by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz.  WAR will begin performances Saturday, May 21; open Monday, June 6; and run for six weeks only through Sunday, July 3 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65th Street). 

The Royal Shakespeare Company has announced new details of its 2016 London season. The Alchemist and Doctor Faustus will transfer directly from the Swan Theatre to the Barbican, playing in rep for a four-week run from August, with the same cast directed by Polly Findlay and Maria Aberg respectively. They will be followed by Cymbeline and King Lear, transferring from the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, playing an eight-week run in rep from late October, directed by Melly Still and Gregory Doran respectively. In addition, following their Chichester Festival Theatre run, Love's Labours Lost and Much Ado About Nothing will travel to the West End's Theatre Royal Haymarket in December.

Papatango today announces the full cast for the world premiere of After Independence by May Sumbwanyambe. George Turvey directs Stefan Adegbola (Charles), Sandra Duncan (Kathleen), Peter Guinness (Guy) and Beatriz Romilly (Chipo) in the production which opens at the Arcola Theatre on 6 May, with previews from 4 May, and runs until 28 May 2016.

Two-time Tony Award winner Patti LuPone is among the star-studded Broadway roster for The Ladies Who Sing Sondheim, a gala benefit for Off-Broadway's esteemed Classic Stage Company tonight, March 14 at Alice Tully Hall (1941 Broadway), hosted and directed by Tony Award winner John Doyle, who will become the company's new Artistic Director in July.

Theater Reconstruction Ensemble (John Kurzynowski, Artistic Director; Reed Whitney, Producing Director) proudly presents the world premiere of Rhinbecca, NY, created and performed by Theater Reconstruction Ensemble, and conceived and directed by John Kurzynowski. Rhinbecca, NY runs from March 4 - 19, 2016 in a limited engagement at The Brick, located at 579 Metropolitan Avenue between Union Avenue and Lorimer Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Off-Broadway's acclaimed Classic Stage Company today announced plans for its 2016-17 season, led by incoming Artistic Director John Doyle and Managing Director Jeff Griffin. Doyle, a Tony Award winner for Sweeney Todd and the director of Broadway's highly-praised new production of The Color Purple, assumes the artistic leadership of CSC beginning in July, succeeding Brian Kulick, who has led the company since 2003. For CSC, Doyle has directed Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Passion and Rodgers & Hammerstein's Allegro, and later this season will direct Henrik Ibsen's Peer Gynt.
