Lyric Unlimited, an initiative of Lyric Opera of Chicago, is proud to present the all-new family presentation, The Magic Victrola, on Saturday, January 17 at 3pm at the Civic Opera House in downtown Chicago. This is Lyric Unlimited's third annual performance especially designed for youngsters ages 5-10 and their families.

Celebrated grande dame of pantomime Clive Rowe will make his much-anticipated return to Hackney Empire this Christmas in Mother Goose. Rowe will star in the title role, for which he received an Olivier Award-nomination in 2008.

The Fall Festival of Shakespeare is back and with it come the four Common Classes where hundreds of teenagers gather in one place to work and play together in Stage Combat, Dance and Movement, Technical Theatre and Performance Preparation. Ten different schools will be represented. Coming from the Berkshires, Pioneer Valley, eastern Massachusetts and western New York, the students will join together on four different nights to explore, collaborate, and mostly to have fun together. The Festival continues to be a unique program where schools are not in competition with each other, but rather in celebration of one another.

The Alliance Theatre has announced the world premiere of NATIVE GUARD. Winner of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry, former U.S. Poet Laureate Natasha Trethewey's NATIVE GUARD will be brought to the stage with actors, music, imagery, and visual art in a complete theatrical staging. NATIVE GUARD will open the Hertz Stage season at the Alliance Theatre today, September 26 - October 19, 2014. Opening night is Wednesday, October 1, 2014.
