18 years and billions of box office receipts later, Disney's Tony Award-winning global hit THE LION KING is still going strong both on Broadway and on various touring and sit-down productions across the world. The show's North American tour is currently finishing up its four-week return engagement at Orange County's Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa through November 1. The question raised is this: is THE LION KING, Director Julie Taymor's creative stage adaptation of the hit animated classic still worth seeing these days? Absolutely. Here's ten reasons why...

'[Thank you] to an incredible cast of British and American actors who make the Atlantic look like a little creek you can just kind of pop across,' said Dame Helen Mirren upon receiving her 2015 Tony Award. The stage and screen star reprised her critically-acclaimed performance in THE AUDIENCE after a West End run in 2013, and she was just one of many to 'pop across' an ocean for a stab at Broadway.  An unprecedented amount of British talent took over Broadway last year, bringing us such productions as THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME, WOLF HALL: PARTS 1 & 2, and SKYLIGHT.   It doesn't seem like the trend is ending anytime soon. This fall, Broadway will welcome a slew of British actors- some of whom will be making their US stage debuts in incoming productions. And it's not just performers. We're getting some complete British imports in shows like A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE and KING CHARLES III. Below, we're taking a moment to shine a spotlight on this season's British imports.

The Coral Springs Center for the Arts is launching a star-packed 2015-2016 season next month with an exciting, diverse, audience-wowing array of hit shows, comic legends and musical superstars, according to Kevin Barrett, the Center's General Manager. 

Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, and Arista Nashville will release Genuine: The Alan Jackson Story, a definitive three CD career-defining anthology of music from country superstar Alan Jackson, on Friday, November 6, 2015.

The national tour of the new musical comedy BULLETS OVER BROADWAY, written by Woody Allen and based on the screenplay by Allen and Douglas McGrath (Beautiful) for the 1994 film, launches in Cleveland, OH at Playhouse Square with performances beginning tonight, October 6, 2015.

The Huntington Theatre Company presents a special free screening of the pilot episode of MY SO-CALLED LIFE in the Wimberly Theatre at the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA tonight, October 1 at 7:30pm. The evening will include a post-screening discussion with MY SO-CALLED LIFE creator and CHOICE playwright Winnie Holzman and WBUR's Robin Young, co-host of the nationally-broadcast HERE AND NOW.

Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis announces the Indiana Premiere of One Man, Two Guvnors opening tonight, September 24, 2015 on the Steve and Livia Russell Stage. This production runs through October 18, with Rich Rand serving as director.

Lincoln Center at the Movies, the new cinema series recently announced by Lincoln Center in partnership with Fathom Events, will open in fall 2015 with Great American Dance presenting performances by four of America's leading companies: Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Ballet Hispanico, New York City Ballet, and San Francisco Ballet. Each event will be shown in select cinemas nationwide at nearly 400 locations.
