The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra takes concertgoers on a swashbuckling, sea-faring odyssey in "Pirates on the High Seas," its first family program of the season, with two performances on Saturday, November 26, at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark. Featuring music from the blockbuster film Pirates of the Caribbean, Rimsky-Korsakov'sScheherazade, Rodgers' Victory at Sea and more, this musical expedition explores how composers depict adventure and bravery on the high seas.

It will be a 'Full House' at the Goodwill of Orange County Gala this year. The nonprofit announced today that John Stamos, Bob Saget and Dave Coulier, perhaps better known as Uncle Jesse, Danny Tanner and Joey, will host this year's fundraising event on Saturday, November 5 at The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel.

Back in February, BroadwayWorld reported that stage and screen star Kevin Kline would star in The Acting Company's reading presentation of Noel Coward's charming comedy PRESENT LAUGHTER. Now he's taking the show to Broadway, according to the New York Times.

The Blue Hill Troupe, now in its 93rd season, offers a fresh new take on Gilbert & Sullivan's 'The Pirates of Penzance.' This perennial audience favorite tells the story of a pirate named Frederic, who at the age of 21, has completed his apprenticeship and is ready to seek his fortune as an upstanding citizen. As the characters Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne, Mark Edward Lang and Alison J. Murphy seem to be a perfect fit in the play about the famous Broadway actors. Lang and Murphy are married in real life and have been performing together for many years. Recently visiting San Antonio, Texas, BWW had a chance to sit down and chat with them about their roles and about the show LUNT AND FONTANNE 'THE CELESTIALS OF BROADWAY.'

In the year that the Congregacão Israelita Paulista (CIP) celebrates 80 years of great history and dedication to the Jewish community and the Brazilian society, the actor and singer Daniel Boaventura was chosen to be the attraction of the commemorative concert for the benefit of social work of the institution . The event, which takes place June 29 at the Teatro Sergio Cardoso, will be presented by Rubens Ewald Filho - also one of the directors and writers alongside Claudio Erlichman - and will journey for more than 50 years of history of the great Broadway classics, highlighting the strong Jewish influence in the American Songbook, which contributed to the emergence of a new artistic genre, the musical theater.
