This past Thursday, NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts and the artists of CIRKOPOLIS, the critically-acclaimed show by Montreal-based troupe Cirque Eloize, teamed up with photographer Jordan Matter to create Circus Among Us, a follow-up to Matter's best-selling photo series and book, Dancers Among Us.

In anticipation of the New York City Premiere of CIRKOPOLIS, the critically acclaimed show by Montreal-based troupe Cirque Eloize, NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts will host the panel discussion CIRCUS: FROM EGYPT TO ELOIZE, on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 6:30pm at La Maison Francaise, New York University (16 Washington Mews, New York, NY 10003).

After beginning his career in 1993, longtime theatrical press agent MICHAEL HARTMAN, founder and CEO of one of the largest and most successful theatrical publicity firms in New York, will say goodbye to Broadway and close THE HARTMAN GROUP on Sunday, January 5, 2014, remaining fully operational until then.

CIRKOPOLIS starts with a solid premise, and the show combines the circus arts Eloize is known for with dance, clowning, original music, and theatricality. Unfortunately, these elements never fully blend, and while Eloize's metropolis forms a cohesive setting, it fails to develop into an immersive world.

The FirstWorks season kicks off at the Providence Performing Arts Center with Cirkopolis, Friday, November 1, 2013 at 7:30pm and Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 4:00pm. A spectacular show by Quebec-based Cirque Eloize (pronounced [sirk el-waz]) that transports performers-and spectators of all ages-between dream and reality in an uninterrupted stream of dazzling acrobatics, illusions and imagery.

After traveling through Europe, Cirkopolis, Cirque Eloize's latest production co-directed by Dave St-Pierre and Jeannot Painchaud, will be presented for the first time in Wilmington, Delaware at the DuPont Theatre from October 1-6, 2013 for eight (8) performances only.

NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts is pleased to announce programming for its tenth season, 2013-14. McCarter Theatre Center is pleased to announce its 2013-2014 roster of world-renowned artists on its 2013-14 Presenting Series.
