Today, on Earth Day's 40th Anniversary, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and Earth Day New York will be joined by environmental leaders, business leaders and local and international performers at Times Square, the Crossroads of the World.

Since 1999, The Night of 1000 Voices has delighted capacity audiences at the Royal Albert Hall whilst raising money for charity. This year, The Night of 1000 Voices will be celebrating its 10th birthday, the 80th birthday of Stephen Sondheim and the 50th Anniversary of this year's charity, Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. Performers to be introduced by the much-loved, Aled Jones, include London and Broadway's Kerry Ellis (Oliver!, Wicked, Les Misérables) and Adam Pascal (Rent, Chess in Concert) and multi-Olivier Award-winning Philip Quast (Les Misérables, Evita, La Cage Aux Folles); also, the popular The Night of 1000 Voices regulars, Teri Bibb (Broadway's Christine in The Phantom of the Opera), Kenneth Nichols (Lyric Opera of Chicago) and David Michael Johnson (We Will Rock You in Stuttgart) who will return with his show-stopping Jesus Christ Superstar. Joining these performers on stage will be a VIP special musical guest with Robin Cousins and the original Calendar Girls. Gloria Hunniford and Ainsley Harriott will also make an appearance at the evening performance.

Pasadena Playhouse announced casting today for their upcoming production of Lerner and Loewe's CAMELOT, featuring book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe. Nine-time Emmy Award-winning director/writer/producer David Lee (co-creator of 'Frasier' and director of the Ovation Award-winning production of Can-Can at Pasadena Playhouse) directs a cast of eight in this timeless tale of passion, desire and betrayal. Based on 'The Once and Future King' by T.H. White, CAMELOT was originally directed and staged by Moss Hart on Broadway in 1960. The musical, which is the first production of the Playhouse's 2010 Season, will play January 8 - February 7, 2010 with the official press opening on Friday, January 15 at Pasadena Playhouse.

Rod Gilfry will take a brief hiatus from his role as Emile de Becque in the national tour of Rodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific, and will whisk away to Paris where he will star in will Emilio Sagi's production of The Sound of Music at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris from Dec. 6, 2009 through Jan. 3, 2010. But the sudden arrival of Hal Carter, a handsome young drifter, stirs the emotions of a group of neighbors as he develops an instant attraction with Madge, one of the most beautiful girls in town. As Hal hides deep insecurities with grand shows of bravado, Madge is torn between her heart and her head in this Pulitzer Prize-winning drama where passions turn one small community upside down.
