Excited high school students, educators and supportive friends and family members packed McCaw Hall to celebrate The 14th Annual 5th Avenue Awards Honoring High School Musical Theater. The highly anticipated event, directed by Kat Ramsburg, handed out awards in 21 categories ranging from Outstanding Overall Musical Production to Outstanding Lobby Display. The crowd eagerly cheered for Washington's finest teenage performers as awards were accepted, local celebrity presenters spoke and nominated students performed musical excerpts from their acclaimed shows. This Tony Awards style program hosted by The 5th Avenue Theatre is proudly sponsored by Wells Fargo with additional support from Alaska Airlines and The Boeing Company.

Concert Dance Inc. to Open 2016 Ravinia Season and Ruth Page Festival of Dance, 6/2-3

CDI/Concert Dance Inc. (CDI) returns as part of the Ruth Page Festival of Dance and marks the opening event of the 2016 Ravinia Season Thursday, June 2 and Friday, June 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Ravinia's Bennett Gordon Hall. Ravinia is located at 418 Sheridan Rd., Highland Park and gates to the event open at 6:30 p.m. Regularly commissioned by Ravinia to present new works, the CDI performance will highlight a preview of Artistic Director Venetia Stifler's critically-acclaimed full-length work originally created in 1985 but reimagined for the 21st Century,  "The Chicago Project: Future Present", and also feature guest company the Ruth Page Civic Ballet who will perform their complete work "Movements" that was created as part of their cultural exchange program with Cuba's Escuela Nacional de Ballet in 2015. Cast Announced for Wayward Productions' THE PLOUGH AND THE STARS

Wayward Productions is pleased to announce complete casting for the May 20th opening of Sean O'Casey's The Plough and the Stars. Wayward ensemble members Jill Oliver and Megan See (Burn the Black Dog) return, along with newest ensemble member Laura Reitsma (The Living Room at Stage 773) in Wayward's first production of 2016. Eric Loughlin, Tony Jaksha and Jasonn Rose (Burn the Black Dog), are joined by Christopher Marcum (Richard III) and Riso Straley (Bonfire, Space Fight) in returning to the Wayward stage. Wayward is joined for the first time by Allison Cain (Lifeline Theatre), Angie Martinez and Johnny Moran (Factory Theater). Rounding out Wayard's first-time cast members are Joel Reitsma, Stella Rothenberg, Beau Forbes and Nikki Greenlee.

The New School's College of Performing Arts Sets Winter, Spring Programming
