For several years the Harlequin Theater has entertained audiences in the San Antonio area. Located on the Fort Sam Houston Military Base, the Harlequin Theater is an intimate venue that is as charming as it is historic. Currently playing at this gem of a theater is GROOVE, a musical revue taking you back to the days of bright colors and big hair. From the moment you enter the theater, the dim lights and misty fog immerses you completely in the experience and makes you wish you didn't leave your bell-bottoms at home. GROOVE features hit songs from the late-1960's featuring legendary artists such as The Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, and The Beatles. It is hard not to sing along as the cast belts out song after song with seasoned precision. Under Laura Anglin's expert choreography, each song was enhanced with electrifying dance moves, making each number even more fun to watch. From the very first note, the cast exuded a contagious energy that remained until the final bow. It is no secret that the cast and crew put their heart and soul into this show, resulting in an evening of non-stop entertainment sure to bring a smile to your face.

Mark Stuart Dance Theatre (MSDT) will celebrate their 10th anniversary gala, honoring 10 years of art inspiring change, on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 5pm at New York Live Arts Theater (219 W 19th St).  The gala will include a performance of When Change Comes: A Movement Forward, which is playing a limited tour in September of 2018.  Featuring special performances from Abigail Breslin (Academy Award nominee, Little Miss Sunshine), "American Idol" alum Jerome Bell, and singer/songwriter Matt Cusson (John Lennon Songwriting Award winner, 'One of Those Nights' & 'Leaving L.A.'), and more, this one-night event marks a decade of MSDT's physically stunning and emotionally compelling storytelling making bold statements about our society.  A portion of the proceeds from the Gala will go directly to benefit March for Our Lives.

Mark Stuart, founder of Mark Stuart Dance Theatre, along with Jeff Eckstein, announced today that When Change Comes: A Movement Forward, formerly called Standard Time, will play a limited tour in September of 2018. Performances are September 7-8 at Madison Theatre at Molloy College (1000 Hempstead Ave, Rockville Centre, NY), and September 13-16 at New York Live Arts Theater (219 W 19th St, New York City).

Lonely woman finds true love in sunny, romantic, magical Italy! It's an all-too-familiar trope in films. It's happened to Kate (and Audrey) Hepburn, to Marisa Tomei, to Renee Zelwigger, to Miranda Richardson and others.

This year, a living legend of musical theatre turns 90: Lyricist-bookwriter Tom Jones (who also, under a stage name) appeared in the original company of his most famous and wildly successful record-breaking musical, The Fantasticks. His collaborator, composer Harvey Schmidt, just recently passed away. The production's record-breaking run closed, on January 13, 2002, after 17,162 performances. Their shows also include 110 in the Shade, I Do! I Do!, Philemon, Celebration and many more. And celebration is what it's about when Broadway veterans Carole Demas, who originated the role of Sandy in Grease, and Sarah Rice, who originated the role of Johanna in Sweeney Todd, return to celebrate Jones & Schmidt. Demas and Rice have based the show on their 50 years of work and personal relationships with Tom and Harvey. With very special guest Broadway's Hal Robinson who is also a Fantasticks alumni.

]From August 30 through October 28, 2018 in the Main Gallery, Napa Valley Museum Yountville will present: California Dreamin'. Melissa Chandon and Matt Rogers' joint exhibition at the Napa Valley Museum Yountville embodies the idyllic 'California Dream' of freedom and vitality. Paintings of palm trees, lifeguard stations, and woody-style station wagons carrying surfboards set against expansive blue skies capture the indelible collective memory of the relaxed, carefree beach lifestyle that took hold of imaginations around the world in the 1960s.  With their vivid dream-like palettes and sense of light and air, Chandon and Rogers have each earned reputations for depicting the essential character of the Golden Coast. This exhibition - which also includes rare woody cars, surfboards and other elements of surf culture - unites the artists' visions, celebrating a moment in time when the world collectively dreamed of the fun and sun of 1960's California, and embraced its spirit of love, peace, and connection. Opening Celebration on Saturday, September 1 from 5 - 7:30 pm is FREE for members; $20 for Non-Members.

After coast to coast critical acclaim, Marga Gomez comes to The Marsh Berkeley with Latin Standards, her 12th and final work in the solo performance genre, named a "Critic's Pick" by The New York Times, which hailed its "winning heart and humor." Gomez explores the loving, funny, and true story of perseverance and creative addiction passed down from immigrant father to lesbian daughter as she describes life as the child of a blustery Cuban showman. Between vivid portrayals of characters from 1960's Manhattan to present day San Francisco, Gomez ponders the ballads penned by her late father Willy Chevalier: a comedian, producer, entrepreneur, and composer of dance tunes steeped in jealously and obsession. Latin Standards will be presented October 5-November 17, 2018 with performances 8:00pm Fridays and 8:30pm Saturdays at The Marsh Berkeley, 2120 Allston Way, Berkeley. Los Altos Hills will be alive with The Sound of Music this summer, when multi-award winning Foothill Music Theatre presents the Tony, Grammy, and Academy Award-winning musical. This beloved musical, set in Austria in 1938, follows novice Maria Rainer who becomes the governess for the von Trapp family, capturing the hearts of the seven children and their father, a widowed naval captain. As the Nazis occupy Austria, the family is forced make decisions which forever change their lives, fleeing their home in pursuit of freedom. Director Milissa Carey, music director William Liberatore, and choreographers Brett and C.J. Over those 40 years different productions have put their own spin on the tale of the last days in the life of Jesus of Nazareth, told from the perspective of Judas Iscariot via a powerful rock score. From the original concept album and productions, to the film starring Ted Neely and Carl Anderson, and most recently with the NBC live production, this captivating story has shown a universal quality that continues to excite audiences as much today as when it premiered. And in that light, the final production of the Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT)'s Nutmeg summer series, does what JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR does best - thrills audiences while stimulating dialogue and introspection, long after the last chords of the score are through.

Sandra Dickinson has had a long and diverse career, spanning stage and screen. An American who has lived in the UK for over four decades, she was recently seen in Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One and as Lucille Ball in I Loved Lucy at the Arts Theatre. She is currently starring opposite Jonathan Chambers in the European premiere of The Unbuilt City at the King's Head Theatre.
