The Purple Rose Theatre Company is announcing a casting change for the summer comedy Boeing-Boeing by Marc Camoletti. The role of Robert, originally to be played by John Seibert (Ann Arbor, MI), will now be played by Matthew David (Flint, MI) for the duration of the engagement June 17 through August 28, 2010. Seibert stepped down for medical reasons, but will continue to serve the production as the understudy for the role.

Jane M. Saks, Executive Director of the Ellen Stone Belic Institute, and About Face Theatre Artistic Director, Bonnie Metzgar, announce the world premiere of a new one-person play, SWEET TEA: Black Gay Men of the South, written and performed by E. Patrick Johnson, and directed by award-winning artist Daniel Alexander Jones.

The Purple Rose Theatre Company summer comedy will be Boeing-Boeing by Marc Camoletti, adapted by Beverley Cross. The production will enjoy an eleven-week engagement from Thursday, June 17 through Saturday, August 28, 2010.

The first major revival of David Hirson's Olivier Award-winning comedy LA BÊTE starring Tony and Olivier Award winner Mark Rylance, Tony and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce, and BAFTA Award winner (and star of 'Absolutely Fabulous') Joanna Lumley will play Broadway's Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street) beginning September 23, 2010. This new production, helmed by acclaimed director Matthew Warchus (God of Carnage, Boeing-Boeing, The Norman Conquests), will officially open October 14, 2010. This immediately follows a limited summer engagement at the Comedy Theatre in London's West End from June 26-September 4, 2010 with opening night set for July 7.

David Hirson was born in New York City and was educated at Yale and Oxford. He is the author of two plays for the theatre, La Bête (1991) and Wrong Mountain (2000), both of which have been produced on Broadway. He has received numerous honours for his work, including the 1992 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy. The original Broadway production of La Bête was nominated for five Tony awards in 1991. A collected edition of his plays is published by Grove Press. He is currently working on a new version of Die Fledermaus for the Metropolitan Opera.
