The American Theatre Wing has just announced new appointments to its Board of Trustees and Advisory Committee, BroadwayWorld has learned.

With a mission to highlight films that take the road less traveled, the Rural Route Film Festival returns to Museum of the Moving Image with its eleventh edition. From July 24 through 26, 2015, the Festival will feature nineteen films—from sixteen countries (and seven continents)—with filmmakers in person and live musical performances. Festival director Alan Webber said, “This year's Rural Route line-up has come together as an exceptional schedule of brand new films, in-person guests, and live music, with an emphasis on bold, independent women behind and in front of the camera (and instrument) that we're excited to showcase at Museum of the Moving Image.”

GFour Productions, winners of 54 Drama Desk and 44 Tony Awards, today announced the cast of leading ladies for the Memphis production of the international hit show Menopause The Musical, which will play the Orpheum Theatre for 3 performances, August 1-2, 2015. Lincoln Center Out of Doors one of the country's longest-running, free, summer outdoor festivals opens its 45th season on July 22, 2015. A range of concerts, dance performances, family events, related film screenings, talks, and an exhibition will be presented across three weeks, from July 22 - August 9.

World-renowned guitarist Ry Cooder, country music songbird Sharon White and country and bluegrass legend Ricky Skaggs are combining forces for a national road show.  

Direct from two completely sold-out engagements in London, producers Scott Rudin and Lincoln Center Theater will bring the Young Vic's critically-acclaimed production of Arthur Miller's A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE to Broadway this fall.  The production, which swept the 2015 Olivier Awards — winning for Best Revival, Best Director, and Best Actor (Mark Strong) —will begin previews Wednesday evening, October 21 and open on Thursday, November 12 at the Lyceum Theatre, 149 West 45 Street.  A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE will play an 18-week limited engagement through Sunday, February 21, 2016.

Tennessee Shakespeare Company (TSC), the Mid-South's professional classical theatre, in partnership with the University of Memphis' Department of Theatre & Dance presents a magical, family-friendly, Louisiana bayou-inspired production of A Midsummer Night's Dream on the U of M's Mainstage from tonight, June 4-21.

The 69th Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday June 7th at 8/9c hosted by Kristin Chenoweth and Alan Cumming. It's the biggest award show of the Broadway season and it closes out a long award season for Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals and plays. We can't help but wonder what chances this year's Best Musical and Best Play nominees have of taking home the ultimate prize.
