The Martha Graham Dance Company's two-week season at The Joyce Theater, February 14-26, 2017, will feature three diverse programs organized under the season theme Sacred/Profane. Classics by Martha Graham and works by four contemporary choreographers, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Annie-B Parson, Pontus Lidberg, and Nacho Duato, will be presented, highlighting the mystical, spiritual, and humorous aspects of magical thinking.

Based on Ben Hecht's books A Guide For the Bedevilled and A Child Of the Century, in which Hecht confronts his own identity as an American Jew in the wake of the Nazi Holocaust, THE BEN HECHT SHOW begins today, June 10 and continues through July 17, 2016 at Piven Theatre at Noyes Cultural Center, 927 Noyes St. in Evanston. Today, producer Mark Goucher has confirmed that following the phenomenal success of the current UK tour, the new production of Hairspray will return at the end of summer 2017 to once again tour the UK. This second tour of the smash hit musical will visit venues across the country until the spring of 2018. Casting, dates and locations for the 2017/18 tour will be announced in due course.

Beginning August 25, Misty Copeland will make her Broadway debut in the role for 12 performances only, through September 6.

Ford made his reputation on westerns, but worked in many genres, creating films of depth, beauty, and ambiguity. From today, July 3 through August 2, the Museum will present 20 movies directed by Ford-all on film, with some restored archival prints-including his masterpieces Young Mr. Lincoln, My Darling Clementine, The Searchers, and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.
