It has been reported that Beyonce is currently in final negotiations to star as Nala in Jon Favreau's upcoming big screen remake of Disney's The Lion King.

Based on Disney's 1991 Academy Award-winning animated film of the same name as well as the classic French fairy tale by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont, Beauty & the Beast tells the story of a bright, beautiful young woman who doesn't seem to fit in with her hometown. She later finds herself trapped in the enchanted castle of a cold-hearted prince who had been magically transformed into a hideous beast as punishment for his selfish ways. To revert back into his true human form, the Beast must first earn the love of this woman before it's too late.

Theatre Palisades Youth invites you to 'be their guest' for a special presentation of Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST JR. opening July 28th at Pierson Playhouse in Pacific Palisades. Forty members of the youth theatre group are getting ready to tell the tale of an adventurous young girl and a prince trapped under a spell who find that the power of love can overcome any evil. Director Lara Ganz helms the production and lets us in on the behind-the-scenes workings in this charming interview.

Legendary singer Roberta Flack and leading theatrical producer Daryl Roth will receive the Town Hall 2017 Friend of the Arts Award, it was announced today. 

Today it was announced that comedian Jon Oliver would be joining the cast of the upcoming live-action remake of Disney's The Lion King in the role of Zazu.

The Hollywood Bowl has announced that Sarah Uriarte Berry, Philip Boykin, and Jonathan Groff will complete the cast for a benefit performance of SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, conceived and directed on Broadway by James Lapine.

Bruce A. Curless, Producing Artistic Director of The Ritz Theatre Company, is more than just the head-honcho of a company in its 32nd season - for years, Bruce delighted audiences as his stage alter-ego, Ritzy the Wolf. Now, returning to the stage, minus the ears and the tail, Bruce Curless will again lend his talents to a magical family tale on the stage - this time as Belle's zany father Maurice in Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Joining him is Anabelle Garcia, a Ritz favorite last seen as Nellie in South Pacific, and Collingswood resident Bryan M. Pitt,  who will be taking on the starring roles of Belle and the Beast, respectively.

The world premiere of a spanking new version of the Tim Rice musical comedy Blondel gets its London premiere at the Union Theatre, now through Saturday 15 July. Press night is tonight 23 June 2017.

Celebrating the premiere of Blondel, multi award-winning composer Tim Rice is to take part in a special evening to talk about his life and career in the West End, on Broadway and Hollywood movies.

The Wick Theatre proudly presents Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Based on the 1991 Academy Award-winning animated feature film, the musical features music by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, and book by Linda Wolverton. The stage version of Beauty and the Beast includes memorable new songs in addition to familiar ones from the animated version such as "Be Our Guest", "Gaston", and the title song "Beauty and the Beast".

Producers have announced the cast for the world premiere of a spanking new version of the Tim Rice musical comedy Blondel.

A brand new version of the Tim Rice musical comedy Blondel, which follows the trials and triumphs of an ambitious minstrel in King Richard the Lionheart's court, will get its London premiere at the Union Theatre from Wednesday 21 June - Saturday 15 July.

In 1937, Snow White advised us to whistle while we work. In 1940, Jiminy Cricket taught us the power of wishing upon a star. Sleeping Beauty walked with us once upon a dream in 1959, and in 1967, Baloo gave us life lessons in the bare necessities. The stories we remember, but it's the songs from our favorite animated movies that have left an even deeper impression.

            Panic! Productions closes its 2016-2017 season with a fresh take on the crowd-pleasing musical, "Little Shop of Horrors," June 2 through 18, at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts in Thousand Oaks. The Alan Menken-Harold Ashman ("Beauty and the Beast," "The Little Mermaid") musical will be directed by J. Bailey Burcham, with choreography by Tyler Matthew Burk, and musical direction by Josh Bednarsky.
