Nicknamed the Black Venus, Josephine Baker, one of the United States?s most glamorous and legendary expats, is the dramatic subject of ?Looking for Josephine,? a wildly splashy musical revue, which after opening at Paris?s L?Opéra Comique in 2006 and playing to over 200 sold-out houses was seen in theaters throughout Europe before returning to Paris twice more, where it was once again greeted with standing-room-only crowds. Directed by Jérôme Savary and starring American musical artist Nicolle Rochelle, plus a cast of 22 Cuban, Chilean, French and American dancers, actors, tappers, singers and musicians, ?Looking for Josephine? makes its American debut at Peak Performances@Montclair, September 17-27.

On November 12, 2003, The President of The United States presented Tommy Tune with the nations' highest honor for Artistic Achievement, The National Medal of Arts. The revival script includes significant rewrites to the original text, as well as hilarious songs freshly scribed by Guare himself. In Rich and Famous, playwright Bing Ringling yearns to savor the sweet taste of celebrity, and he's hoping play number 844 will be his lucky break. But on opening night, he slips into a nightmarish phantasmagoria that shows him just how wrong things can go.

The feature includes interviews with James Houghton, Founding Artistic Director, and Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Associate Artist for the season and director of 'The First Breeze of Summer.

Producer Sonia Friedman announced today that the 2008 Tony Award-Winning Best Play Revival, Boeing-Boeing, has recouped its entire $2.65 million investment as of September 21. A 2009 Tour is also being planned.

Signature Theatre Company (James Houghton, Founding Artistic Director; Erika Mallin, Executive Director) announced today that THE FIRST BREEZE OF SUMMER has been extended for a second time by popular demand after receiving glowing reviews and playing to sold out houses since beginning performances on August 5th. The limited engagement, initially slated to conclude Sunday, September 28th, will now run through Sunday, October 19th. THE FIRST BREEZE OF SUMMER, by Leslie Lee and directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson, is the first production of the 2008-2009 season celebrating the historic Negro Ensemble Company (NEC). The show opened August 21st at the Peter Norton Space located at 555 West 42nd Street (between 10th and 11th Avenues).
