The Old Globe today announced the full cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Bright Star, a new American musical featuring music by Edie Brickell and Steve Martin, lyrics by Brickell, and book by Martin, based on an original story by Martin and Brickell. Directed by Walter Bobbie, Bright Star will run September 13 - November 2, 2014 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run September 13 - September 27. Opening night is Sunday, September 28 at 7:00 p.m. Single tickets go on sale on Friday, August 8 at noon.

The World Premiere of playwright Paul Fontana's Resurrection of the Ants, directed by Gary Wolf and produced by Michael Abramson (Jekyll and Hyde), opens Friday June 21st at The Hayworth: Upper Level in Los Angeles (2511 Wilshire Blvd. 90057). Resurrection of the Ants plays Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. through July 28th. The price is $25 on Friday and Saturday, $20 on Sunday. ImprovBoston recognized its past and took a bold step toward the future this morning as the company made two big artistic announcements. Current Artistic Director Will Luera will transition to Artistic Director Emeritus and the theater is welcoming its first full-time Artistic Director, Michael Descoteaux. The transitions will begin effective October 1 and Descoteaux will begin his new position full time on January 1, 2013.

Center Theatre Group Artistic Director Michael Ritchie has set the 2012-2013 season at the CTG/Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City.
