According to The West Australian, Michael Cormick will jump into the role of Daddy Warbucks in Annie on Aug. 7 to replace Anthony Warlow, who is set to play the same role in Broadway's production of Annie, which opens Nov. 8 at the Palace Theatre. Australia's Annie opens at Perth's Burswood Theatre on Aug. 24.

Brigid Harrington (Mary Poppins) has been cast to play the title role in Bellarine Theatre Company's production of Annie for three performances only, August 16th-18th.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Aline Brosh McKenna has been chosen to rewrite Columbia Pictures upcoming film adaptation of ANNIE. A previous script of the remake had been penned by Emma Thompson.

According to The West Australian, Bert Newton joins the cast of Annie in Perth today, July 24, replacing Alan Jones as President Roosevelt. Jones leaves the production to broadcast the 2012 Olympics from London.
