Rattlestick Playwrights Theater announces mainstage picks for the upcoming season and a weeklong September mini-festival of free staged readings entitled F*ck~ng Good Plays Festival.

Labyrinth Theater Company presents the world premiere of Homos, Or Everyone in American (October 20-November 27) by Jordan Seavey. Homos, Or Everyone in American, directed by Mike Donahue and featuring two-time Tony nominee Robin De Jesus (In The Heights, La Cage Aux Folles) and Drama Desk Award winner Michael Urie (Buyer and Cellar, Ugly Betty, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying), is a bitingly tender new play about trying to live and love in New York.

Aurora Theatre Company proudly opens its 25th anniversary season with a revival of the play that started it all, DEAR MASTER. Joy Carlin (The How and The Why, Talley's Folly, Jack Goes Boating) helms this elegant portraitfeaturing Bay Area favorite Michael Ray Wisely (The Letters, The Arsonists) and Aurora's first leading lady Kimberly King (Edward Albee's A Delicate Balance), wife of Aurora co-founder Ken Grantham, who played Flaubert in the original production. DEAR MASTER plays September 2 through October 2 at the Aurora Theatre in Berkeley. The Byrd Hoffman Water Mill Foundation celebrated its 23rd Annual Summer Benefit & Auction, a one-of-a-kind evening bringing together over 1,000 guests from the worlds of theater, art, performance, fashion, design, and society at The Watermill Center on Saturday, July 30. The event, entitled FADA: HOUSE OF MADNESS, featured new works by Watermill's International Summer Program participants that came from over 25 countries to create installations and performances throughout the eight and-a-half acre grounds. This year, The Watermill Center honored Madame Giancarla Berti.

To acknowledge his outstanding contribution to classical theatre in America, British actor Charles Dance will accept the Shakespeare Theatre Company's (STC) prestigious William Shakespeare Award for Classical Theatre (Will Award) at the Harman Center for the Arts Annual Gala on Sunday, September 25, 2016, at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St NW).

The Fredericksburg Theater Company (FTC) is pleased to announce open enrollment for their summer youth program, Camp Freddyburg 2016. The camp runs July 5-31, with a two-day orientation session on June 28 and 29. The camp schedule and application can be found on FTC's Facebook page and website, www.fredericksburgtheater.org. Enrollment is limited and scholarships are available if needed. Along with Ms. Goff several other theater, music and dance instructors will teach classes. The deadline for early registration is June 27th.

The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre and The Dee Buchanan Studio of Dance have come together to host Cabaret for a Cause on Saturday, June 25th at Way Off Broadway. The charity event is to benefit the Bald Ballerina.

The 70th Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday June 12th at 8/9c hosted by James Corden. It's the biggest award show of the Broadway season and it closes out a long awards season for Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals and plays. We can't help but wonder what chances this year's Best Musical and Best Play nominees have of taking home the ultimate prize.
