Barrington Stage Company Completes 2020 Season With THE PRICE By Arthur Miller

Barrington Stage Company (BSC), the award-winning theatre in Pittsfield, MA., in the heart of the Berkshires and under the leadership of Founder/Artistic Director Julianne Boyd, has announced the final production for its 2020 season. The Price, by Arthur Miller, will run October 1-18, 2020 on the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage, with opening night on Sunday, October 4.

Goodman Theatre Artistic Director Robert Falls has announced casting for his upcoming revival of Molly Sweeney by Brian Friel. In assuming the title role, Chicago favorite Kate Fry returns to the Goodman, following her recent appearance in Falls' production of The Winter's Tale. Joining Fry are stage and screen star Brendan Coyle (Downton Abbey), who returns to the Goodman following his triumphant appearance in last season's St. Nicholas by Conor McPherson, and Chicago's Christopher Donahue (Oedipus Rex at Court Theatre, Moby Dick at Lookingglass).

Initial casting has been announced for the 10th anniversary revival of Bruce Norris' seminal play Clybourne Park. Oliver Kaderbhai directs a cast including Michael Fox (Jim / Tom), Imogen Stubbs (Bev / Kathy) and Eric Underwood (Albert / Kevin). The production opens on 30 March, with previews from 25 March, and runs until 2 May.

Wright State University Theatre continues its 45th season in the Herbst Theatre with the classic Ibsen play, An Enemy of the People, running from February 21st a?' March 1st. This drama shocked the world when it premiered nearly a century and half ago, but its story still resonates today with its themes of majority rule vs minority rights, freedom of the press, and a?' for the first time in Western drama a?' the subject of pollution and the environment. Henrik Ibsen, one of the world's most popular and influential playwrights himself, even declared, a?oeI am still uncertain as to whether I should call An Enemy of the People a comedy or a straight drama. It may have many traits of comedy, but it also is based on a serious idea.' This play has been considered one of Ibsen's finest works, coming from the playwright who authored, A Doll's House.
