The cast for the reading will include Wendie Malick (Hot in Cleveland), Todd Sherry (Parks & Recreation), Katie Walder (How I Met Your Mother), and Josh Zuckerman (Desperate Housewives). Michael Matthews will direct.

Lainie Kazan is an American actress and singer. ?Lee Blessing's Two Rooms focuses on the relationship of Michael, an American professor kidnapped by political terrorists in Beirut, and his wife Lainie, who has imprisoned herself in a bare room to share in his captivity. Blindfolded Michael (Olubajo Sonubi) dictates love letters to his wife (Candace Mabry) as she struggles to deal with her loneliness and fear in the wake of his uncertain return. Government policy prevents negotiation for his life, and this inaction is what crusading reporter Walker Harris (Aaron Goodson) tries to leverage to get Lainie to speak out against government policy, despite the attempts of her State Department handler Ellen VanOss (Aretta Baumgartner) to keep her in check. Lainie is caught in the push and pull of her own emotions and outside forces, yet fettered by her own grief. 

Now onstage by the Aerospace Players through February 6, ANNIE GET YOUR GUN tells the story of sharpshooter Annie Oakley (Julie Hinton, a natural comedienne who perfectly inhabits the role) and her romance with Frank Butler (Stephen Cathers). Unfortunately, Cathers has no chemistry whatsoever with Hinton, and try as she might to entice him, their romance seems implausible and totally unbelievable. Without two solid leads who really appear to be in love, or at least attracted to each other physically, the musical lacks the spark needed to fuel the plot.

Now that 2015 is squarely in the rearview mirror, and everyone is back to work after the holidays, it is time to take a look at some of the best films of the past year. As was the case with my Top 15 TV Shows of 2015 list, this is not intended to be a comprehensive list. I am one man, and I have not yet seen every major movie released last year. However, as I continue to work through screeners and upcoming screenings (I live in Orlando, so not all of the awards-bait has been released here yet), I will count down the top 2015 releases that I saw during the calendar year. Notable omissions are BRIDGE OF SPIES, THE REVENANT, THE DANISH GIRL, and CONCUSSION, all of which I hope to see by the end of the week.
