ALLEGIANCE plays its final performance on Broadway today, February 14, 2016. Performances began at the Longacre Theatre on October 6, 2015, and the production officially opened on November 8, 2015. At the time of its closing, the musical will have played 37 previews and 113 regular performances, and will have been seen by approximately 120,000 people, a number that eerily echoes the number of Japanese Americans who were directly impacted by the events that inspired the show. Sing Out, Louise! The original cast album of the new musical Allegiance, with music & lyrics by Jay Kuo, was recorded last month at MSR Studios and is available digitally today, January 29, 2016. 

Although ALLEGIANCE will end its run early on February 14th, the creators, including GEORGE TAKEI, hope that the musical will have a life following its Broadway run. 

Just yesterday, 'Star Trek' alum, social media icon and activist George Takei was joined by Tony® winner Lea Salonga and his Allegiance co-stars for a very special afternoon. Productions and ATA have announced that the new American musical Allegiance has partnered with Omaze, the fundraising platform that gives you the opportunity to win once-in-a-lifetime experiences while donating to great causes. For a chance to win, fans can donate $10 or more to Takei Over The Town with George Takei and raise money for students to attend performances of Allegiance through Inspire Change. This just in! Sing Out, Louise! Productions and ATA have announced that the new American musical Allegiance will play its final performance on Broadway on Sunday, February 14, 2016. Performances began at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street) on October 6, 2015 and the production officially opened on November 8, 2015. At the time of its closing it will have played 37 previews and 113 regular performances. Producers also announced a national tour and international productions are in the works. Allegiance had its world premiere in a record-breaking engagement at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego in 2012.

Lee, George Takei, Lea Salonga and Telly Leung onstage for a photo moment. Also seen at performances were Glee's Jenna Ushkowitz (who appeared on the show with Telly Leung) and comedian Gilbert Gottfried.
