Atlanta Lyric Theatre today announced the casting for "Ain't Misbehavin'.

Manhattan Theatre Club has announced that two time Drama Desk Award nominee Margaret Colin ("Gossip Girl," MTC's Defiance) and four time Tony Award winner Boyd Gaines (Gypsy, Contact) will join Tony and Emmy Award winner John Lithgow in the cast of the world premiere of THE COLUMNIST by Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner David Auburn, directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan.

Utilizing two different casts to tell a story spanning four decades, Triad Stage and NewBridge Bank present the entire New Music trilogy by Reynolds Price, directed by Preston Lane, in a two part extended run-Part I, comprised of the plays, August Snow and Night Dance, and Part II, the final play in the series, Better Days-produced together for only the second time since they were written.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company continues celebrating its 25th Anniversary Season with the second installment of the Bard's Broadway series with the Tony Award winning musical Two Gentlemen of Verona (a rock opera) performing January 27-29, 2012 at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW). Galt MacDermot, John Guare and Mel Shapiro come together to create the music, lyrics and book that add a spicy, funky twist to Shakespeare's work of the same name.

Carolyn Griffin has announced that MetroStage will be presenting the premiere of a new musical, Josephine Tonight, with book and lyrics by Sherman Yellen, and music by Wally Harper, Jan. 26-Mar. 18, 2012.

Lou Bellamy, Artistic Director of the acclaimed Penumbra Theatre, will direct the Cleveland Play House production of Radio Golf, the Tony Award®-nominated finale of playwright August Wilson's unprecedented ten-play cycle chronicling African-American life in the 20th century. Bellamy has been described as the foremost living interpreter of work of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright August Wilson, and his Penumbra Theatre is proud to have produced more of Wilson's plays than any other theatre in the world. Radio Golf, a co-production with Indiana Repertory Theatre, will begin in the Allen Theatre at PlayhouseSquare on Friday, February 10 and run through Sunday, March 4, 2012. A veteran cast brings its acclaimed performance of the noir classic Double Indemnity to San Jose, in a world premiere co-produced by the San Jose Repertory Theatre and Seattle's A Contemporary Theatre (ACT). The ensemble of five actors from Seattle and the Bay Area brought the story to stage during a successful run of Double Indemnity in Seattle in October 2011.

Manhattan Theatre Club has announced that Tony Award winner Adriane Lenox will return to MTC this spring in REGRETS, the new play by Matt Charman. This world premiere production will be directed by Carolyn Cantor (After The Revolution, for which she recently received the Callaway award, and Pumpgirl). REGRETS will now begin previews Thursday, March 8, 2012 and open Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I.

On Friday, November 11, 2011 STAGES ST. LOUIS hosted the tenth annual APPLAUSE! Gala at the Ritz-Carlton, a benefit supporting the theatre's Education and Outreach Programs and the employment of St. Louis artists. APPLAUSE! 2011 raised proceeds of over $435,000, breaking all records for STAGES fundraising efforts.

Musical powerhouse Avery Sommers, who just wowed the crowds as Motormouth Maybelle in the Actors' Playhouse production of Hairspray (for which she just received a BWW Florida Award Nomination), is returning to The Colony Hotel for her fifth engagement since making her Royal Room debut in August 2008. She starred on Broadway in the long running, critically acclaimed musicals Ain't Misbehavin' (where she replaced Nell Carter) and Showboat, and in two national tours: Chicago with Joel Grey and Chita Rivera and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas with Ann-Margret. A frequent co-star of Burt Reynolds (B.L. Stryker, The Man from Left Field), she also starred in Menopause, the Musical and as Bloody Mary in South Pacific. In addition, she produced and co-starred in the film Hiding Victoria with Anita Gillette. At the Monaco International Film Festival last December, Sommers received the Best Supporting Actress Award at the Angel Film Awards.

Returning to the Royal Room for her sixth engagement since 2003, Baby Jane Dexter is a 'triple crown winner' in cabaret, having received two Bistro awards from Back Stage, six top vocalist awards from the Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs (MAC) and both the 2009 and 2010 Nightlife Award for top cabaret singer. She will be celebrating the release of her new live CD, The Real World on Quannacut Records. Following a sold out run in New York City, The Real World is a powerful, inspiring and funny potpourri of unique songs and arrangements given Ms. Dexter's one of a kind haunting spin. The eclectic song list includes gems by the likes of Billie Holiday, Janis Ian, Roy Orbison, John Sebastian, Alec Wilder and many more.
