California Shakespeare Theater's 25th anniversary season at the Bruns Amphitheater continues with August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize-winning story of the American Dream deferred, Fences, directed by Raelle Myrick-Hodges in her Cal Shakes debut. Fences, which plays from July 6 through July 31, marks the first time Cal Shakes has presented August Wilson's work on its stage. Sam Shepard, the author of AGES OF THE MOON, now on stage at Ensemble Theatre, is noted for writing plays that are frank and often absurd. His language choice is gritty, the setting is the American west, and his characters usually self-destruct. He sometimes includes in his stage directions the requirement that part of the set is to be demolished, much like the lives of the people about whom he writes. The actions of the actors carry out these destructions. AGES OF THE MOON is no exception.

THE RANDY GARDNER STORY, starring World Champion Figure Skater Randy Gardner and written & directed by Josh Ravetch (the co-creator and director of Carrie Fisher's Wishful Drinking, Dick Van Dyke's, Step In Time, and long distance swimmer, Diana Nyad's, ONWARD!). GO FIGURE! will preview tonight, May 14 at 8:00pm and will open on Friday, May 15 at 8:00pm and will run through Sunday, June 14th before moving on to West Hollywood, Las Vegas and Boston where it will appear in concert with the 2016 Ice Skating World Championships. Opening Weekend Special Guest Artists will be Mr. Gardner's skating partner of 45 years, Tai Babilonia and Olympic Figure Skating Royalty, Gold Medalist, Dorothy Hamill with other special guests to be announced during the run of this production.

Sundance Institute announced today the films selected to screen in the 2015 Sundance Film Festival out-of-competition sections Spotlight and Park City at Midnight, as well as the films and installations to be featured in the New Frontier program. The Festival, which takes place January 22 to February 1 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah, is the centerpiece of the year-round public programs for the Institute, which also hosts 24 residency labs and grants more than $2.5 million to independent artists each year.
