As millions of the faithful around the world light the last candles of their menorahs, we take a look at a handful of musical moments that have a decidedly Jewish flair. On the last night of Hanukkah, we want to celebrate some of our favorite Broadway tunes about the faith while honoring the contributions of our immensely talented Jewish legends who have helped mold the American musical into what it is today. Therefore, we have selected eight Jewish-themed showtunes for the occasion. The Theatre School at DePaul University is pleased to present August Wilson's Joe Turner's Come and Gone on the Fullerton Stage at The Theatre School at DePaul University.  The production, directed by Phyllis E. Griffin, premieres on Friday, November 6, and runs through Sunday, November 15, 2015. Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. Previews are on November 4 and 5, at 7:30 PM.

Peninsula Players Theatre, America's Oldest Professional Resident Summer Theater and Door County's theatrical icon, continues its 80th season with the hilarious musical comedy 'Nunsense,' with book, music and lyrics by Dan Goggin. The lighthearted musical has a six-week run starting tonight, Sept. 9, through Oct. 18. 'Nunsense' received the Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Musical, Best Book, Best Music and Best Off-Broadway Musical.

Orange County, Calif.—Aug. 17, 2015—Romantic Russian masterpieces give way to a thrilling orchestral battle featuring fireworks, cannons and brassy fanfare for Pacific Symphony's “Tchaikovsky Spectacular,” featuring the composer's “1812” Overture. The program's centerpiece is Rachmaninoff's virtuosic showpiece—the achingly beautiful, grand and lyrical Piano Concerto No. 2, performed by Olga Kern. Born in Russia to a family of musicians with direct links to both Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff, the captivating pianist was the first woman in 30 years to win the Gold Medal at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition (2001). Led by Music Director Carl St.Clair, the concert opens with enchanting ballet music including excerpts from Tchaikovsky's “The Sleeping Beauty” and Stravinsky's shimmering Suite from “The Firebird.” Summer Festival 2015 comes to a dramatic close with an electrifying display of fireworks and 16 cannon shots in Tchaikovsky's victorious “1812” Overture, featuring the Huntington Beach Concert Band, which also provides pre-concert entertainment.

This limited Off-Broadway engagement, directed by Jonathan Bank, will continue through October 11th only. SEATTLE, WASH. - (March 31, 2015) - It may not be a proven scientific fact, but more often than not, the people leaving the Teatro ZinZanni spiegeltent in Seattle leave brimming with excitement having seen at least one something completely new. From high-flying aerial and pole dancing tango duets to world-class vocalists that span the pop to opera genres, a Teatro ZinZanni experience is something out of a dream. This June, Teatro ZinZanni will open a new show that plays with a superhero theme and features the return of some of the greatest artists ever to be seen under the magical spiegeltent including drag-comedian genius Kevin Kent, Swedish chanteuse Anki Albertson, the high-flying Collins Brothers, and more; in true ZinZanni form, these performers will be accompanied by a specially curated and seasonal multi-course feast complimented by delicious beverage pairings.
