Compagnia de' Colombari, an international collective of performing artists founded and directed by Karin Coonrod, presents More Or Less I Am: a music-theater piece drawn entirely from Walt Whitman's revolutionary free verse long poem, 'Song of Myself,'one of the original twelve pieces that comprise his 1855 collection Leaves of Grass. The next performance in this series, spanning multiple venues throughout the five boroughs, will take place on Sunday, May 26, 2019, 7:30 pm at Fort Greene Park, Brooklyn.  

HartBeat Ensemble announces the world premiere of Pegao, a family drama set in Puerto Rico in the 1970s. The new work, built a round of high-stakes game of dominos, is written by Ensemble member Cin Martinez with dramaturgy by acclaimed playwright Edwin Sanchez and is directed by Ensemble member Hannah Simms. The cast for Pegao includes Yohanna Florentino, Clara Tristan, Joel Oramas, and Angelina Adam. Performances run May 30 through June 9, 2019 at HartBeat Ensemble's Carriage House Theatre (360 Farmington Avenue, Hartford, CT). Pegao will be presented in Spanish and Spanglish with English captioning. The Saturday performances will be presented without English captions. The disappointment was palpable when midway through the 2015-16 season it became clear that the world premiere of Frankenstein would not go ahead as planned because the set and the special effects were too exacting technically for the temporary infrastructure at Tour & Taxis. Partly because of the many film adaptations, Mary Shelley's modern myth about an idealistic, but arrogant scientist and his 'Creature' still clearly fires the collective imagination, and the expectations of Mark Grey's opera of the same name were running high. However, three seasons later La Monnaie is now more than ready to bring this production to life. All eyes are on the Polish-Lebanese conductor Bassem Akiki and the Spanish director lex Oll .

Due to popular demand, Alexandra Burke and Duncan James will extend their runs in CHICAGO at the Phoenix Theatre. Alexandra Burke will play Roxie Hart until 10 November 2018 and Duncan James will play Billy Flynn until 17 November 2018. Laura Tyrer will play Velma Kelly until 20 October followed by Josefina Gabrielle who returns to the role of Velma Kelly from 22 October - 5 January 2019.

On Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 7:00pm, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra presents Stars Aligned, an exploration of classical works by composers who revolutionized America's collective imagination and cultural heritage through film scoring, at Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. Stars Aligned features works by composers with deep cinematic roots - Nino Rota, Miklos Rozsa, and Franz Waxman.

BUTTERFLY' (which is currently playing at Maybank Performing Arts Theater until September 30) is coming to Manila to conduct a strictly by invitation only 'Master Class' on September 28 - 3 pm.

Northport's gorgeous John W. Engeman Theatre does it again with a stellar showing of theatre staple Man Of La Mancha, the second show of their dazzling 12th Season. This incarnation of the Tony winner, running through October 28th, is excellently directed by Peter Flynn and boasts an extraordinary cast. Long Island is certainly lucky to have this production lead by Broadway vets Janet Dacal, Richard Todd Adams, and Carlos Lopez.

Yeston & Kopit's 'PHANTOM' made its New York Premiere here at WBT in 1992. During our record breaking nine- month run, over 120,000 people attended. Night after night, audiences rose to their feet for the stunning musical thriller. The original production was directed by William Pullinsi and starred Robert Cuccioli as the Phantom and Glory Crampton as Christine Daee. 'PHANTOM' returned to our stage in 1996 and 2007 directed and choreographed by Tom Polum, who had been in the original production. This extraordinary piece will grace our stage once again with Tom Polum at the helm.

Based in the South Main Arts District, the gallery is bringing the beauty and magic of Cuba, "the Pearl of the Antilles," to the Mid-South. Featuring fifteen medium to large-scale mixed media and acrylic works on canvas, Recuerdos De Cuba / Memories of Cuba, is the visionary work of native Cuban artist Eduin Fraga. This solo exhibition features a powerful critique of the political and systemic struggles in Cuba, from failing infrastructure to socio-economic restrictions where citizens are caught between local and global forces. Fraga's signature collage works express the complex, nuanced triumphs and challenges of daily life in Cuba. This Havana-born artist is celebrated for his generous eye and layered storytelling in a variety of mediums. In his works, taxi drivers lounge on carefully maintained classic cars, families wait in long line for buses and gather outside bodegas, men play dominoes piercing the air with their laughter, and musicians and other artists collaborate, clasping hands. Born in 1974, this is Eduin Fraga's first solo exhibition at the gallery and his first visit to Memphis.

The John W. Engeman Theater announces the cast and creative team for MAN OF LA MANCHA. Performances begin on Thursday, September 13 at 8:00pm and run through Sunday, October 28, 2018.

The Washington Ballet is excited to launch its season opener TWB Welcomes at the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater. The program, which includes acclaimed highlights from choreographers Alexei Ratmansky and Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, as well as iconic masterworks (likeSerenade and Les Sylphides), provides a highly curated production that defines ballet as an art form over the last century. TWB Welcomes is named so because the company will play host to the audience and also welcome internationally recognized stars of the dance world who will share the stage as guest artists alongside TWB dancers.

From Monday 10 September 2018, Duncan James will join the West End cast of CHICAGO at the Phoenix Theatre, playing the role of Billy Flynn, a role he originally played in 2008. He will join Alexandra Burke as Roxie Hart, Josefina Gabrielle as Velma Kelly, Mazz Murray as Mama Morton and Paul Rider as Amos Hart.

A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre presents critical and audience favorite Man of La Mancha by Dale Wasserman, music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion, original production staged by Albert Marre, originally produced by Albert W. Selden and Hal James, and based on Cervantes' Don Quixote. ANW Artistic Director Julia Rodriguez-Elliott directs. La Mancha performs August 16 - September 9, 2018 (Press Opening August 18).
