Sundog Theatre is pleased to announce the 2016 Scenes From The Staten Island Ferry awardees. The six awardees' plays will be produced as 6 original, 1-act plays about life on the historic Staten Island Ferry. This year submissions came from all over the world. The five performances will be held at New Dorp Moravian Church Theatre, 2205 Richmond Road on Staten Island and Tickets are $20 for adults and $18 for students/seniors. 'The New World Symphony: Dvorak in America' is a puppet and object theater work examining the influence of African-American and Native American music upon the great 19th-century Czech composer Antonin Dvorak (1841-1904). The piece is written and directed by Vit Horejš and performed by Czechoslovak American Marionette Theatre. It traces how Dvorak helped America accept its beautiful multicultural musical traditions by his enthusiasm for African-American and Native American music during his short but influential time in the USA. La MaMa Theatre will present the play's world premiere run March 10 to 27, 2016 in its Ellen Stewart Theatre, 66 East 4th Street (East Village). Composer and Musical Director is saxophonist James Brandon Lewis.

Pilgrim Festival Chorus (PFC), the region's principal community chorus, presents a winter concert, A Very British Christmas, tonight, December 5 at 7:30 pm, and tomorrow, December 6 at 4 pm at The Church of the Pilgrimage (COTP), 8 Town Square in Plymouth.  The chorus is conducted by Music Director William B. Richter and accompanied by Asst. Director Elizabeth Chapman Reilly on the church's 55 rank Roche pipe organ.
