After his hit production of King Charles III, David Muse returns to Shakespeare Theatre Company to direct Shakespeare's Richard the Third, a mesmerizing chronicle of the megalomaniac's rampage to the throne. The legendary songwriter Alan Menken comes to Chicago for a one-night-only performance at the historic Auditorium Theatre on Saturday, March 30, 2019. In his one-man show A Whole New World of Alan Menken, the man behind songs like "Under the Sea" (The Little Mermaid), "Somewhere That's Green" (Little Shop of Horrors), "A Whole New World" (Aladdin), and "Be Our Guest" (Beauty and the Beast) performs some of these beloved songs and tells stories from throughout his expansive career.

Joshua Turchin will return to The Green Room 42 with his cabaret series, 'The Early Night Show with Joshua Turchin,' on February 10, 2019 at 2pm. Turchin has previously performed two successful shows, 'The Early Night Show at The Green Room' and the 'West End Lounge,' and regularly music directs and accompanies at The Green Room 42's (YOUNG) cabaret series. Special guests from Broadway, television and film will join Turchin on stage. A BRONX TALE is a musical adapted from a film that was once a one man show written by Chazz Palminteri. The Broadway Smash premiered with previews on November 3, 2016, and officially opened December 1, 2016 at the Longacre Theatre. Launching its North American Tour in the Fall of 2018 the musical features music written by Alan Menken, with lyrics by Glenn Slater and book written by the original one man show stopper Chazz Palminteri. While on its tour stop in Tampa at the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts, we as the opening-night audience were truly thrust into Old City New York full of Mobsters and Italian lessons to boot. 

2019 FRIGID New York Festival presents Mary Goggin's multiple award-winning show, 'Runaway Princess, a Hopeful Tale of Heroin, Hooking and Happiness.' In 'Runaway Princess...' Goggin, a writer/actor and former professional call girl, shares a story of Irish Catholicism, sex and addiction. The tale is laced with humor and pathos and a multitude of characters she encountered along the way to ultimately finding joy.

The Off-Broadway production of THE MUSHROOM CURE, written & performed by Adam Straussand developed & directed by Jonathan Libman, will offer talkbacks after performances at Theatre 80 St. Marks on Friday, January 25th and Saturday, January 26th.

The Athena Film Festival (AFF) at Barnard College announced today its film slate, including opening night, closing night, and centerpiece films, as well as additional programming for the 2019 festival. Broadway In Chicago is delighted to announce that individual tickets for A BRONX TALE will go on sale to the public on Wednesday, January 9. A BRONX TALE will play Broadway In Chicago's Nederlander Theatre (24 W. Randolph) for a limited two-week engagement March 12 24, 2019.
