Transport Group has announced initial casting for Promises, Promises-its second musical in this season's Anne L. Bernstein Concert Series. The concert stars John Cariani, Donna Lynne Champlin, Jessica Fontanta and Santino Fontana. 

American Blues Theater announces encore performance run of BUDDY - The Buddy Holly Story, written by Alan Janes, directed by Lili-Anne Brown, with musical direction by Ensemble Member Michael Mahler. BUDDY - The Buddy Holly Story will close as planned on May 26, 2018 and reopen June 29 - September 15, 2018 at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. in Chicago. Tickets will be on sale for the encore run on May 15, 2018.

Transport Group has announced that its Anne L. Bernstein Concert Series of one-night-only musical events will continue with two Broadway classics for the 2017-18 season Man of La Mancha, on Monday, December 18, 2017, and Promises, Promises, on Monday, June 25, both at 8pm at the Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Music Center, 129 West 67 Street. Both concerts will be directed by Transport Group artistic director Jack Cummings III and will feature original orchestrations. Casting will be announced at a later date.

Drama Desk and OBIE-winning Transport Group has announced that Tyne Daly (Master Class, Mothers and Sons, It Shoulda Been You, Rabbit Hole), Jason Danieley (The Visit, Chicago), Hannah Elless (Bright Star, Godspell), and Marc Kudisch (Hand to God, Finding Neverland) will join Richard Thomas ('The Americans,' You Can't Take it With You) in its concert of A Man of No Importance, which takes places Monday, December 5 at 8pm at the Irene Diamond Stage at the Pershing Square Signature Center, 480 West 42nd Street.

Drama Desk and OBIE-winning Transport Group will present Picnic and Come Back, Little Sheba: William Inge in Repertory, directed by Artistic Director Jack Cummings III, two plays in rotating repertory as the centerpiece of its 2016-17 season.  Performances begin Thursday, February 23 and run through Sunday, April 23 at the Gym at Judson, 243 Thompson Street.  The opening night has been set for Sunday, March 26.

Playwrights Horizons' production of POCATELLO, the world premiere of a new play by Obie, Drama Desk and Lortel awards winner and 2014 MacArthur Foundation 'Genius' grantee Samuel D. Hunter (The Whale at PH, The Few, A Bright New Boise), is directed by Davis McCallum (The Whale at PH, The Few, London Wall, A Bright New Boise, Water by the Spoonful). The play is the third production of the theater company's 2014/2015 Season. The production will begin previews tonight, November 21 with an opening night set for Monday, December 15. City Circle Acting Company of Coralville presents the 2014 New Play Festival tonight, September 20 at 7pm. City Circle will also remount Sue Gilbert's one-woman play about pioneer midwife Annie MacFarlane on Thursday, September 18 at 7:30pm and Today, September 20 at 2pm. The Festival is sponsored by Cedar Rapids-based Heuer Publishing and celebrates emerging voices in theater.
