An historic moment: Broadway star Norm Lewis and award-winning composer Andrew Lloyd Webber met for the first time on stage at THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA at The Majestic Theatre, yesterday, April 3, 2014. Lewis will make history on May 12, 2014 when he becomes the first African-American performer to assume the title role in the composer's legendary musical. PHANTOM is the longest-running musical in Broadway history; worldwide, it is the highest-grossing theatrical production of all time.

The Phantom of the Opera, now in its 26th year on Broadway, will welcome former 'LITTLE MERMAID' co-stars Norm Lewis and Sierra Boggess to the cast on Monday, May 12, at the Majestic Theater. BroadwayWorld broke the news last week that The Phantom of the Opera, now in its 26th year on Broadway, will welcome former 'LITTLE MERMAID' co-stars Norm Lewis and Sierra Boggess to the cast on Monday, May 12, at the Majestic Theater. Both of the show's new stars were at the opening night for Les Miserables yesterday, and BroadwayWorld's Richard Ridge got to chat with them about their big news!

The start of the Friday, November 29th 2013 preview performance of The Phantom of the Opera at the Providence Performing Arts Center was delayed due to a technical malfunction affecting the automated machinery on stage. The mechanism was restored and the performance began one hour late.
