BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that legendary Tony Award winning composer and lyricist Jerry Herman has passed away. He died in Miami on December 26, due to pulmonary complications. He was 88 years old.

The highly-anticipated return engagement of Sir Patrick Stewart's acclaimed oneman version of A CHRISTMAS CAROL to benefit City Harvest and Ars Nova will play for two nights only, December 11 and December 13, at Theater 511 (511 West 54th Street). Two tickets per benefit performance will now be offered for $25 to TodayTix Lottery winners.

Legendary rock band The Who have announced they'll be moving on in 2020 with more tour dates, not quite ready to close the books on their acclaimed MOVING ON! TOUR, which paired Singer Roger Daltrey and guitarist/songwriter Pete Townshend with local symphony orchestras across North America and was hailed bycritics as a once-in-a-lifetime rock experience.  Along with a series of rescheduled shows announced earlier in the month (see complete list of dates below) the band has expanded their 2020 itinerary to include a show on April 21 in Hollywood, FL (Hard Rock Live), April 23 in Cincinnati, OH (BB&T Arena at Northern Kentucky University), and a series of six shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV kicking off on May 5 and running to May 16 (see dates below). As part of its year-long 50th anniversary celebration, CAPA will offer a free open house walking tour of the Ohio, Southern, and Palace Theatres on Saturday, July 13, from 1-4 pm. The three historical, downtown theatres are owned and operated by CAPA, and will be open for self-guided tours that include access to their stages to take photos with the theatre as a backdrop. Local docents will be scattered throughout, offering historical information and interesting, and perhaps lesser known, facts about each venue.

Grammy Award-winning American organist Paul Jacobs-deemed 'a grand New York institution' by James R. Oestreich of The New York Times (February 18, 2018)- will launch the fall season by highlighting the organ on the New York concert scene, performing in a three-recital series for solo organ in September 2019.  The Academy of Country Music® announced today that three-time reigning Entertainer of the Year and current Entertainer of the Year nominee Jason Aldean will receive the ACM Dick Clark Artist of the Decade Award and perform at the 54th ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, Country Music's Party of the Year®. The awards telecast, hosted by Reba McEntire, and honoring country music's superstars and hottest emerging talent, will air LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 8:00 PM ET / delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.
