The Dennis & Victoria Foundation (DVRF) will present an industry reading of Ian August's The Excavation of Mary Anning as part of their 2018 Playwrights Program.  The reading stars Susannah Perkins (The Wolves, The Low Road) and Annie Golden (Violet, Hair, Orange is the New Black), and is directed by Sammi Cannold (Ragtime on Ellis Island).

David Mirvish announces that due to popular demand ANNIE THE MUSICAL will add one more week of performances, extending to June 3, 2018 at the Ed Mirvish Theatre. Performances for ANNIE THE MUSICAL begin April 24 and play through June 3, 2018. This new block of tickets will go on sale Saturday March 24, 2018.

Today the Edinburgh International Festival unveils its 2018 programme. The International Festival runs Friday 3 to Monday 27 August. The event welcomes 2,750 artists from 31 nations to perform in Scotland's capital city and attracts visitors from all over the world, with audiences expected to travel from over 80 nations to be part of Edinburgh's global celebration of culture.

The Orchard Project (Artistic Director, Ari Edelson) announced the eleven writers, composers, directors and companies for its 2018 New York City Greenhouse. In its first year, the Orchard Project NYC Greenhouse is a new NYC-based accelerator for directors, writers, composers and other generative artists to seed ambitious and unexpected work, form new relationships and develop a new generation of theater. For the Orchard Project, it aims to parlay the strength of support that has set the organization apart and transform it into a resource for its growing network of artists.

The 2018 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has been awarded to U.K. playwright Alice Birch for her play "Anatomy of a Suicide". Now celebrating its 40th anniversary, the Prize is awarded annually to recognize women from around the world who have written works of outstanding quality for the English-speaking theatre. The Winner will receive $25,000 and a signed and numbered print by renowned artist Willem de Kooning.

The 17th annual Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, revealed its feature film lineup championing the discovery of emerging voices and celebrating new work from established filmmaking talent. To close the Festival, Tribeca will World Premiere The Fourth Estate, from Oscar®-nominated director Liz Garbus, which follows The New York Times' coverage of the Trump administration's first year. The Centerpiece Gala will be the World Premiere of Drake Doremus' sci-fi romance Zoe starring Ewan McGregor, Lea Seydoux, Rashida Jones, and Theo James. The 2018 Tribeca Film Festival takes place April 18-29.

Carnegie Hall today announced the names of the 106 outstanding young musicians selected from across the country for the sixth annual National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA). The members of the 2018 orchestra-ages 16-19, hailing from 28 US states plus Puerto Rico-have been recognized by Carnegie Hall as being among the finest players in the country following a comprehensive and highly competitive audition process. This summer's orchestra will feature 36 musicians who previously played with NYO-USA, as well as 18 musicians who gained experience through NYO2, a program for younger players ages 14-17, with a particular focus on attracting talented students from communities underserved by, and underrepresented in, the classical orchestral field. NYO-USA and NYO2 are both free for all participants, ensuring that all invited musicians have the opportunity to take part in these prestigious national programs.

Producer Paul Panico, along with Panic! Productions are pleased to announce the first musical production of 2018. The Manhattan Association of Cabarets (MAC) is pleased to announce the 2018 MAC Award nominees. The nominees, in a majority of the categories, were determined by votes cast by the active MAC membership. The MAC Board of Directors selected the nominees for Show of the Year. Special committees selected the nominees in the Ensemble Instrumentalist, Piano Bar Instrumentalist, Piano Bar Singing Entertainer (Female; Male), Recording (LaMott Friedman), Major Recording, Song and Comedy/Novelty Song categories. The names of the songwriters in the Song and Comedy/Novelty Song categories are being withheld during the voting period, but will be announced publicly as soon as the voting period concludes.

The Renaissance City Theatre, Inc. (RCTI) announces the exciting and new 18th Season of the Granite Theatre. New York-based Cabaret producer, performer, promoter, and former reviewer (for Cabaret Scenes Magazine and BroadwayWorld.com) Stephen Hanks is in the midst of a serious love-hate relationship. He loves the art form of Cabaret and hates the dramatic rise of voter suppression and white supremacy in America during the current Republican Party rule of all three branches of the United States Government. So with the November 2018 Midterm elections on the horizon, Hanks has decided to combine the objects of his love and his hate and channel that energy into political action on behalf of the Democratic and Progressive candidates running for the US Senate, the House of Representatives, and perhaps some state governorships in November.

Broadway Palm is holding auditions for children to play the age ranges of 7 to 14 on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a casting call for the production of Annie playing June 28 through August 11, 2018. Broadway Palm will be auditioning for the role of Annie and the eight orphan girls. All roles will be double cast.

The Los Angeles Philharmonic announces its 97thsummer season at the Hollywood Bowl, featuring a roster of world-class artists in genres ranging from classical and pops to jazz, rock, and world music, with concerts taking place between June and September 2018.

Artistic Director Ray Jivoff unveiled Skylight Music Theatre's 2018-19 Season line-up of "firsts" -- five shows that have never been produced at Skylight.  "We are thrilled to announce this exciting season of well-known and well-loved shows that have not been produced by Skylight before," said Jivoff. Chester Theatre Company has announced its 2018 summer season which is set for June 21 to August 19. More performances, an American Premiere, a special theatre event, and the return of many favorite artists mark CTC's 29th season.
