Astra Theatre company's Artistic Director Taylor Harlow announced today the Company's plan for a one-night-only fundraising concert on Friday December 28th, 2018 at 8pm. 'An Evening With Astra' will take place at Musical Theatre Heritage's Mainstage located in Crown Center.

The world premiere play THE LIFESPAN OF A FACT recouped its production costs the week ending December 9, 2018. Three weeks currently remain in the strictly limited engagement through Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Studio 54 on Broadway (254 West 54th Street). A West End production and limited National Tour are currently in the works.

A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre, presents Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, the Tony Award-winning play that first brought Stoppard to the attention of an international audience - a position he has held in the half century since its premiere in 1967. ANW Producing Artistic Director Geoff Elliott directs. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead performs from October 7 to November 18 (Press Opening October 13).

The Drama League (Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Artistic Director) has announced the theater directors chosen to develop new plays and musicals as part of the 2019 Drama League Artist Residency Program. Public work-in-progress presentations of each residency will be held periodically throughout the year at The Drama League Theater Center, 32 Avenue of the Americas, in Tribeca. A small, African-American family lives in near-poverty in segregated, Depression-era St. Louis, MO. The sound of jazz/blues fill the air like memories of the Father/Husband who no longer provides for them. The son, Tom, and the mother, Amanda continually aggravate each other despite their apparent familial love. The daughter, Laura, proves incapable of living a normal life outside the safety of their small apartment. The need to provide for Laura becomes an all-consuming mission that finds its potential resolution in Jim, an all-too average young white man who unwittingly finds himself carrying the hopes and dreams of every character in the play.
