Second Thought Theatre continues its 2018 season by reuniting Jenny Ledel and Drew Wall for the area premiere of Empathitrax by Ana Nogueira. Wall and Ledel previously starred opposite each other in Second Thought's 2015 hit Belleville by Amy Herzog. Carson McCain returns to direct after previously directing The Great God Pan (2016) and assistant directing Belleville and Booth. This year she directs "a compassionate, humorous, and unflinchingly honest portrait of a relationship that dares to test the limits of intimacy." Empathitrax begins with previews on Wednesday, April 4 and runs through Saturday, April 28. All performances of Empathitrax will take place at Bryant Hall on the Kalita Humphreys Campus, 3636 Turtle Creek Blvd. Tickets to Empathitrax can be purchased online at secondthoughttheatre.com.

Tom Sierchio's debut feature film The Girl Who Invented Kissing has won the award for Best Picture at New York City's 7th annual Winter Film Awards International Film Festival. The film is the story of a nameless, pill-popping drifter girl (Suki Waterhouse), who steps off a bus and into a neighborhood bar owned by two middle-age brothers. She quickly befriends older brother Victor (Dash Mihok) - a good-natured lummox whose mind was affected as the result of a childhood accident. The mysterious Girl soon upsets the delicate balance of the brothers' lives while bringing both trouble and new life into the world of these resigned characters.

The Board of Trustees of American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Terrie and Bradley Bloom Artistic Director Diane Paulus and Executive Director Diane Borger, raised a record $1.3 million in support of the theater's artistic, community, and education programs at a Monday, March 5 gala that honored A.R.T. Trustee Paul Buttenwieser with the theater's Angel Award. More than 400 guests attended the event at the Boch Center Wang Theatre.

After a second career as a Member of Britain's Parliament, Oscar-winner Glenda Jackson ('Women in Love,' 'A Touch of Class') has returned to acting, and is now appearing on Broadway in a revival of Edward Albee's 'Three Tall Women.' Mark Phillips of CBS' Sunday Morning talked with Jackson about her life on two very different stages, and with her Broadway co-stars Laurie Metcalf and Alison Pill about working with a legend.

Previews begin tomorrow, Tuesday, February 27, 2018, for Edward Albee's Three Tall Women. Three Tall Women stars two-time Academy Award-winner Glenda Jackson, Tony Award winner, three-time Emmy Award winner, and 2018 Academy Award nominee Laurie Metcalf, and Tony Award nominee Alison Pill. This production is directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello and produced by Scott Rudin. Three Tall Women will have an official opening night on Thursday, March 29 at the Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street).

Freeform, Disney's young adult television network, welcomes the new mermaid drama “Siren” and the return of fan-favorite original series “Shadowhunters” in March. Alanis Morissette will headline the festival's Saturday line up on July 14th. Victory Gardens Theater announces Jess McLeod and Aaron Todd Douglas as the 2018 Next Generation Fellows. Beginning in February 2018, the Next Generation Fellowship will provide comprehensive mentorship, requisite training, and experience for these future leaders of color, preparing them to helm arts institutions or departments on the national and local level.
