The Board of Directors and Friends of the New McCree Theatre are presenting a Gala Reception and World Premiere Performance of the original musical, A Needle in a Haystack: the Story of the Velvelettes, a tribute to Motown's longest lasting girl group that still performs with all of its original members today. The event will take place at the New McCree Theatre, 2040 W. Carpenter Road, Flint, on Saturday, April 29, 2017. A red carpet reception, with refreshments, will begin at 5:30 p.m. while curtain for the premiere performance of the musical is at 7:00 p.m. Organizers are requesting a $50.00 donation from each patron. Funds will be utilized to enable the New McCree Theatre to carry on its plethora of performing arts activities on behalf of the underserved residents of north Flint for the remainder of the program year. The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team of Skeleton Crew by Dominique Morisseau. The Globe is the first regional theatre in the country to mount the play, which was presented here as a reading in the 2014 Powers New Voices Festival before an acclaimed Off Broadway run. San Diego director Delicia Turner Sonnenberg makes her Globe debut to helm the award-winning drama, which is presented in association with San Diego's MOXIE Theatre, where Turner Sonnenberg is Founding Artistic Director.

The Lyceum Theatre welcomes the Broadway debut of the Mischief Theatre production of The Play That Goes Wrong, the Olivier Award-winning West End hit comedy, starting tonight, March 9, for an official opening on April 2, 2017.

MAMMA MIA! is one of the most successful musicals of all time, the eighth longest running show in Broadway history and one of only five musicals to have run for more than ten years on Broadway. The West End production is now in its eighteenth year. To date, MAMMA MIA! has been seen by more than 60 million people worldwide in 50 productions in 16 different languages. 

The Washington Pavilion is pleased to announce its 2017-18 Pavilion Performance Series. This is going to be a phenomenal performance season. The all-Broadway line-up opens with KINKY BOOTS in September 2017 and ends with CABARET in April 2018. The 2017-2018 Broadway in Wilmington series at The Playhouse on Rodney Square was announced today at a special launch event. The Broadway Series, the third season under the management of The Grand Opera House, includes four week-long productions, THE WIZARD OF OZ, CABARET, DIRTY DANCING: THE CLASSIC STORY LIVE ON STAGE, and MOTOWN THE MUSICAL. In addition, the schedule includes two limited-engagements, THE ILLUSIONISTS: LIVE FROM BROADWAY and DANCE TO THE MOVIES.
