Now about to turn thirteen, La MaMa Moves! Dance Festival, the ever-evolving spring fling of dance that exuberantly commandeers the various theaters of La MaMa each year, takes on yet another challenge in 2018. This year's festival showcases nine artists who take the road less travelled, daring to speak out in new and forceful ways about issues that trouble and inspire them: race, gender, religion, exclusion, each using the body to voice concerns in ways words cannot. Eleven companies, nine performances, including five premieres are on the boards. New this year will be two offsite events: panel discussions about artists and cultural identity, and screenings of rarely-seen films. The 2018 festival runs May 10-June 3.

Roundabout Theatre Company will present the world premiere of the Roundabout - commissioned play, Bernhardt/Hamlet by Pulitzer finalist Theresa Rebeck, directed by Tony nominee Moritz von Stuelpnagel, will kick off Roundabout's 2018 - 2019 Broadway season.

In conjunction with the world premiere of The Doppelganger (an international farce) by Matthew-Lee Erlbach, Steppenwolf Theatre Company is offering four free events on select Sundays during the run of the show. Each discussion is a fun and casual chance for audience members to engage with experts on topics associated with the production. Space is limited. The much-loved Pleasance London has undergone an exciting refurbishment and opens its third theatre space, the 80-seat 'Downstairs'. The Pleasance in Islington has been an integral part of London's Off-West End theatre community for over two decades; an important part of London's theatre scene, Pleasance remains a home for great new theatre and comedy. The recent appointment of Head of Theatre, Nic Connaughton, also marks a fresh new direction for the theatre programme as Pleasance further develop and present outstanding new work.

Geva Theatre Center's 2017-2018 Season continues with the world premiere of One House Over, by Catherine Trieschmann and directed by Mark Clements, in the Elaine P. Wilson Stage from April 3 through April 29.

Martyrs, written by Romana Soutus and developed with and directed by Pirronne Yousefzadeh, will premiere at The Downstairs at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club, April 19 - May 6, Thursday to Saturday at 7 PM, Sunday at 2 PM. A devised ensemble piece performed by a female cast of nine, Martyrs dives into the dynamics of martyrdom, sainthood, self-worth, and desire.

While GOD OF VENGEANCE may currently be better known as the subject of the 2017 Tony Award nominated Paula Vogel play, Indecent, as anyone who attended Head Trick Theatre's production of the show at AS220's Black Box Theatre could attest, it is a fascinating piece of theatre in its own right.

Steppenwolf's LookOut series is proud to present The Yard's production of columbinus by the United States Theatre Project, written by Stephen Karam and PJ Paparelli. Directed by Mechelle Moe and performed by The Yard's 15 young-person ensemble, columbinus runs Thursday, May 3 - Saturday, May 26 in the 1700 Theatre.

Belvoir has announced that the Downstairs Theatre is re-opening to independent artists for the first time in seven years. The inaugural 25A season will take over the Downstairs Theatre from April to December with a lineup of independent shows from the brightest new talent in Sydney.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company presents the Chicago premiere production of Guards at the Taj by acclaimed playwright Rajiv Joseph, directed by ensemble member Amy Morton. A stunning tale about the search for beauty in desperate circumstances, the Steppenwolf production will feature the original cast members, Omar Metwally (Humayun) and Arian Moayed (Babur), whom Amy Morton directed in the Off-Broadway world premiere which received rave reviews when it premiered in 2015 and won the 2016 Obie Award for Best New American Play.

FRIGID New York @ Horse Trade in association with Manhattan Theatre Source will present the 2018 EstroGenius Festival, the longest running festival celebrating the work of women and gender non-conforming artists in NYC.  Begun in Manhattan Theatre Source in 2000 as a short-play festival, the festival has launched and supported hundreds of artists in its 18 years. 2017 was the festival's first time in its new home The Kraine Theatre on E. 4th St.

Joel Taylor - the Sydney-born, LA based multi-instrumentalist described as 'a masterfully talented singer and songwriter' by PopDust -has released the new single, 'Give Myself Away.' This song is the follow up to 2017's double single, Two Sides, and gives listeners a taste of what's to come when his debut EP is released later this year.

Out Front Theatre Company will present Jonathan Tolins' hysterical one-man tour-de-force Buyer and Cellar, March 8-25 as the third show in the company's 2017-2018 season.
