Artistic Director Kelly Thornton and Managing Director Beth Brown are proud to announce Nightwood Theatre's 2018/19 season. In our penultimate season before our 40th anniversary, we have assembled an ambitious lineup of some of the most dynamic female voices working in theatre today. Nightwood is proud to support and partner with an ever-burgeoning community of artists and like-minded arts organizations to develop high-caliber contemporary theatre.

2017 Regional Theatre Tony Award Recipient Dallas Theater Center (DTC) presents White Rabbit Red Rabbit by Nassim Soleimanpour at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre Studio Theatre. White Rabbit Red Rabbit begins on May 30 and runs through July 1. The U.S. Premiere of Toshiki Okada's Time's Journey Through a Room opens this Sunday, May 20, at the Mezzanine Theatre at the A.R.T./New York Theatres. Presented by The Play Company (PlayCo), led by Founding Producer Kate Loewald and Managing Director Robert G. Bradshaw, Time's Journey Through a Room is PlayCo's third collaboration with Okada, translator Aya Ogawa and director Dan Rothenberg. This haunting play, set in Japan after the Fukushima disaster, stars the Japanese-born, New York based performers Yuki Kawahisa (Honoka), Maho Honda (Arisa) and Kensaku Shinohara (Kazuki). The play is both an intimate examination of how we move forward from life-altering events, and a study of how we experience time, asking whether we can ever be alive to the present moment. 

Wajatta - the new group formed by beat-boxer/comedian/musician Reggie Watts and electronic music artist/DJ/producer John Tejada - offers Casual High Technology, its first album, on May 11, 2018 via Comedy Dynamics. Presented as a cosmic collection of funk-infused techno, Casual High Technology is the culmination of decades' worth of Watts and Tejada's favorite electronic music shaped to fit a new dance sensibility. Primary Stages' (Casey Childs, Founder & Executive Producer; Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director; Shane D. Hudson, Executive Director) 2018 Spring Fling benefitting their Free Student Matinee Program will take place tonight, Thursday, May 10, 2018, at 6:00 pm. The event will be held at Ramscale Studio (463 West Street) and will honor Kimberly Senior (Disgraced, Discord) with the Einhorn Mentorship Award.

The Old Globe's 2017-2018 Season continues with today's announcement of the complete cast and creative team for the West Coast premiere of Karen Zacarias's Native Gardens, which was developed in the Globe's 2017 Powers New Voices Festival. Edward Torres (the Globe's Water by the Spoonful) directs this uproarious new comedy, playing May 26 - June 24, 2018 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Tickets start at $30.00 and are on sale to the general public now. Previews run May 26-30. Opening night is Thursday, May 31 at 8:00 p.m.

Seattle Public Theater announced today the four shows selected for its 2018-19 Mainstage Season: #CONFRONTINGAMERICA. Featuring four productions in the company's intimate 165-seat Bathhouse Theater, the season includes the regional premiere of Tanya Saracho's national sensation FADE; the world premiere of 2017 Emerald Prize winner FIRE SEASON by Aurin Squire; DRY LAND, "a shocking but honest portrayal of teenage crisis" by Ruby Rae Spiegel; and THE CALL by Tanya Barfield, which tackles the complex issues that accompany adoption across cultures.

White Castle, America's first hamburger fast-food chain, has announced a special new partnership with Puerto Rican singer and songwriter, Gilmarie. The artist's new song, Make a Bold Move, was co-commissioned by White Castle and is featured in the chain's new Hispanic national advertising campaign, and downloads of the song will directly benefit her dream of attending Berklee College of Music in the fall of 2018.

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) are pleased to announce full casting for Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of Dan Cody's Yacht, a new play written by Anthony Giardina and directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes. Rehearsals for the production begin tomorrow, Tuesday, April 17.

Porchlight Music Theatre concludes its fifth season of Chicago's "lost" musicals in staged concert series with Porchlight Revisits Do Re Mi, starring Porchlight Music Theatre's Artistic Director Michael Weber and Nancy Voigts, music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green and book by Garson Kanin, with direction and choreography by Christopher Pazdernik and musical direction by David Fiorello.
