The Comedy of Errors continues The Old Globe's 2015 Summer Shakespeare Festival as part of the Globe's 80th Anniversary festivities during the Balboa Park Centennial Celebration. With three shows on Broadway this year, Tony and Emmy Award nominee Scott Ellis makes his Globe debut directing one of William Shakespeare's most delightful confections. The Old Globe engagement will begin performances on August 16 and run through September 20, 2015, with opening night on Saturday, August 22 at 8:00 p.m., in the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre. This lavish new production launches this September at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, under the auspices of the Center Theatre Group, and will then tour North America for multiple seasons, playing multi-week and week-long engagements. THE SOUND OF MUSIC premieres at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County on December 29, 2015 through January 3, 2016.

Each summer, thousands gather with their loved ones to enjoy listening to the orchestra in a relaxed outdoor setting. This season, in addition to patriotic fare and classical pieces, Music Director Carl St.Clair has invited five singers to pay tribute to the famous von Trapps by performing memorable songs from one of the most beloved musicals of all time, “The Sound of Music.” Members of the audience also have a special opportunity to decide which of three well-known excerpts they would like to hear: Dvorák's Symphony No. 9, “From the New World,” Mozart's “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (A Little Night Music),” or Beethoven's Symphony No. 5. Families are encouraged to bring picnics, blankets and chairs and arrive early for the Symphony's Musical Playground and city festivities.

Bethany Simons' RECEPTION: THE MUSICAL joins Hayes Theatre Co's CABARET SEASON 2015 with this one act account of her life behind the front desk at the Classical Music Academy. Blending original music and amusing anecdotes, Simons is joined by co-creator and pianist Peter de Jager in this piece of light entertainment.

The Actors Fund celebrated Broadway's Biggest Night at the 19th Annual Tony Awards Viewing Party on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. Tickets went on sale today for the 2015-16 Australian tour of the world's favourite musical, The Sound of Music. The lavish London Palladium production will commence in Sydney at the Capitol Theatre on 13 December this year, followed by a season at Brisbane's Lyric Theatre from 11 March, 2016.
