The Winthrop Rockefeller Institute will host its second annual Film Forum designed to explore the arts of acting, screenwriting, producing, and directing today, March 21st - 24th, 2013, at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute atop Petit Jean Mountain in Arkansas (about one hour outside Little Rock).
Stage West has announced the opening of a second performance space. The new Stage West Studio Theatre is located within the space which houses the group's offices and rehearsal hall, at 823 W. Vickery Blvd., and is a three-sided thrust stage, with seating for 61 patrons. The additional performance space will allow Stage West to offer its audiences productions which might not fit into its regular season, and could also be of use in its educational programs.

The Desert Theatre League presented Coyote StageWorks a total of twelve Desert Star Awards at the Desert Theatre League's annual celebration and awards ceremony on October 14. The Desert Star Awards are presented each year by the Desert Theatre League to recognize excellence in the local theatre community. Almost thirty local theatre companies compete for the awards, which are given in the categories of Ballet, Youth Theatre, Drama, Musical/Opera/Pageant, Revue/Cabaret, Comedy, Staged Reading, One Acts, and Technical Awards. Founded in 1987, the Desert Theatre League has been representing the interests of the Coachella Valley's theatre community for twenty five years.
