The Tony and two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St.) will continue its popular VINEYARD VOICES - a series of panel discussions with leading figures from the theatre community - on Monday, November 22 at 7 p.m. with an evening entitled, "THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS: From Inception to Broadway," it has been announced by Douglas Aibel, Artistic Director of Vineyard Theatre.

THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS is the final collaboration by musical theatre giants John Kander and Fred Ebb (Chicago, Cabaret). Based on the notorious 'Scottsboro' case in the 1930s (in which nine African-American men were unjustly accused of a terrible crime) this musical explores a fascinating chapter in American history. This production is directed and choreographed by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman (The Producers) and features a book by David Thompson (who adapted the script for Chicago's record-breaking revival).

Last night, Deborah Norris Webster and Harsan Webster, actual 'Scottsboro Boy' Clarence Norris' daughter and grandson were in the house, making it quite a special night. They visited after the show with Rodney Hicks, who plays Clarence Norris in the show and BroadwayWorld.com was there to capture the very touching moment after the show.

This week we are taking a listen to a stunning new release of a brand new Broadway score coming from one of the most celebrated and cherished American songwriting teams in Broadway and Hollywood history - if only for 'Cabaret' and 'New York, New York' if not everything else as well - the incandescent Kander & Ebb. Today we take an indepth look at one of their final scores together as captured on a cast recording in anticipation of the Broadway bow of this show in its off-Broadway to Broadway transfer later this month.
