Hulu and Bleecker Street Partner On Exclusive Multi-Year Output Deal

Hulu and Bleecker Street have partnered on a new output deal granting Hulu exclusive SVOD rights to all upcoming Bleecker Street theatrical films. The deal was negotiated by Andrew Karpen, Kent Sanderson and Avy Eschenasy on behalf of Bleecker Street.

Hulu's Scripted Originals Content Team Joins Forces With Walt Disney Television

The Hulu Scripted Originals content team is joining forces with Walt Disney Television to integrate development of original scripted drama and comedy programming for the streaming service with Disney's expansive television resources. With this alignment, Craig Erwich, senior vice president of Scripted Originals for Hulu, will report to Dana Walden, chairman of Disney Television Studios and ABC Entertainment. Erwich will continue to lead scripted originals planning, development and commissioning for Hulu's original comedies and dramas, and his team will remain housed within the Santa Monica Hulu headquarters.

East Forest and Ram Dass To Release Chapter 2 of 4 Part Album

#1 charting electronic artist East Forest (aka Trevor Oswalt) has released his collaborative song with legendary spiritual teacher Ram Dass,  “Home” via Relix. The track is featured on East Forest's new album East Forest x Ram Dass, which will be released in four chapters throughout 2019, with Chapter 2 out March 22 via Aquilo Records. Chicago-Based Director Sydney Chatman Named 2019 Michael Maggio Fellow At Goodman Theatre

Goodman Theatre announces Sydney Chatman as the recipient of the 2019 Michael Maggio Directing Fellowship, an honor reserved for early-career Chicago-based directors. Chatman will gain complete access to the artistic process at the Goodman-from early research and design through the casting and rehearsal process to the opening night. The annual fellowship was established in 2002 to honor the memory and artistry of Goodman Associate Artistic Director Michael Maggio (1951 - 2000) who directed a total of 22 productions at the Goodman and more than 60 productions around the country.

Hulu has greenlit a 10-episode order of Crossing Swords, a new animated comedy series from the Emmy Award winning Robot Chicken executive producers John Harvatine IV and Tom Root. The series from Stoopid Buddy Stoodios is set to premiere as part of the Hulu Originals slate in 2020.

Hulu Acquires Award-Winning Documentary CRIME + PUNISHMENT

Today, Hulu announced a deal to acquire whistleblower doc CRIME + PUNISHMENT as a Hulu documentary. After debuting at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, CRIME + PUNISHMENT went on to win the U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award for Social Impact Filmmaking, and has garnered numerous awards, including the Grand Jury Prize at the 2018 Independent Film Festival in Boston. Stephen Maing directed, produced and filmed, and Academy Award Winner Laura Poitras serves as an executive producer.
