Grammy Award-winning artists Amy Ray and Emily Saliers, better known as the Indigo Girls, will perform with Newton's New Philharmonia Orchestra, under the direction of Francisco Noya at Boston's Symphony Hall on March 18, 2018, at 7:30 p.m.

The Little Match Girl was written in 1975 and 1976. I had seen a TV adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen short story on BBC2 at Christmas 1974 and discovered it was written by Jeremy Paul - who I'd met at the Orange Tree Theatre in Richmond.

Emily Cochrane leads the company in the role of The Little Match Girl and she will be joined by Jack Ayres Aimee Barrett (Josie), Charlotte Christensen (Liza), Julia Faulkner (Mrs Roberts/Winifred/ Washerwoman), Rob Hadden (Jeb), Kathryn Hamilton-Hall (Elsie/Cook/Maud), Matt Philip Harris, Ian McCurrach (Butler), Emily Whiting (Charlotte) and Anthony Williamson (Rich Man). The production opens on 8 December, with previews from 7 December and runs until 31 December.
