Variety has reported that the sequel to the 1988 Eddie Murphy-led comedy COMING TO AMERICA will get a sequel from Paramount Pictures.

Jonathan Levine will direct. Levine's past work includes THE NIGHT BEFORE and SNATCHED. BLACK-ISH creator Kenya Barris will rewrite the screenplay from original writers Barry Blaustein and David Sheffield.

Eddie Murphy is reportedly involved in the sequel, but there is no plans for him to STAR as of now.

The original COMING TO AMERICA followed Murphy's character, an African prince who comes to New York City to avoid an arranged marriage. The movie was a major hit in theaters, grossing over $300 million worldwide. Watch the trailer below to get a taste of the comedy.
