New York Stage and Film is thrilled to announce that its annual Winter Gala will honor playwright and Emmy award-winning actress Patricia Wettig (F2M, 'Brothers and Sisters,' 'thirtysomething') and Executive Producer/director/actor Ken Olin ('This Is Us,' 'Alias,' 'Brothers & Sisters,' 'thirtysomething'), and, in recognition for her years of dedication to New York Stage and Film, Artistic Director Johanna Pfaelzer, who is stepping down from her post at the end of the 2019 Powerhouse Summer Season.

The Public Theater announced the full line-up today for the 15th annualUNDER THE RADAR FESTIVAL, running January 3-13, 2019. This popular and highly-anticipated festival of The Public's winter season will include artists from across the U.S. and around the world, including Argentina, Australia, France, Lebanon, Nigeria, Norway, Palestine, and the UK. Curated by UTR Festival Director Mark Russell, this year's UNDER THE RADAR FESTIVAL continues to expand to venues throughout New York City in addition to The Public Theater's home at Astor Place. The 21st Annual Arpa International Film Festival (Arpa IFF), being held at Hollywood's historic Egyptian Theatre from November 2 to 4, has announced the lineup of 46 films from 17 countries being screened this year. Arpa IFF will once again highlight a diverse range of films that explore themes such as genocide, war, feminism, family dynamics, environmentalism, music, art, adoption, intersectional identities, and LGBTQ issues.

Three Tales by Steve Reich, with visuals by Beryl Korot, will open the Long Beach Opera's 40th Anniversary Season, for two performances Saturday, November 3 at 6pm and Sunday, November 4 at 2:30pm at the Ernest Borgnine Theater, Scottish Rite Event Center, in Long Beach, CA.  The production is sung in English, and is conducted by Andreas Mitisek. Three Tales will serve as the centerpiece to Long Beach Opera's 40th anniversary Gala, which will take place following the performance on November 3rd.

The Actors' Gang announced today that the stage adaptation of Academy Award-winning screenwriter Dalton Trumbo's war novel, Johnny Got His Gun, written by Bradley Rand Smith and directed by Tim Robbins, will kick off The Actors' Gang 2018/19 Season from Saturday, October 6th to Saturday, November 10th, 2018. The press opening is Saturday, October 13.

The Casting Society of America (CSA) announced today the list of nominees for Outstanding Achievement in Casting in the television, theatre, short form series and short film categories. Nominees will be recognized at the 34th Annual ArtiosAwards, taking place on January 31, 2019, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles & Stage 48 in New York City.

The 2018 Margaret Mead Film Festival—the internationally recognized premier platform for documentary films—will screen 55 outstanding films representing 39 countries and host special events and performances from Thursday, October 18, through Sunday, October 21, at the American Museum of Natural History. Garry Marshall Theatre is proud to present Josefina Lopez's coming of age comedy "Real Women Have Curves" as the first production opening its second season. This new production of the iconic Latina story that inspired the Sundance award-winning film of the same name, is set in present day and features script updates that tackle issues women face today, making it as relevant now as it was when first written in 1988. The production runs from Oct. 12 through Nov. 18.

“Dancing with the Stars” is waltzing its way into its upcoming season, and the new celebrity cast is adding some glitzy bling to their wardrobe, breaking in their dancing shoes and readying themselves for their first dance on the ballroom floor, as the season kicks off MONDAY, SEPT. 24 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand. ASCAP, the world leader in performing rights and advocacy for music creators, today kicks off its renowned annual ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop for an historic 30th year. Mentored by Emmy Award-winning composer Richard Bellis and produced by ASCAP Film & TV executives Michael Todd and Jennifer Harmon, the comprehensive 4-week program in Los Angeles is known in Hollywood circles for grooming some of the film and TV industry's top composers, connecting them with agents, music supervisors, attorneys and A-list Hollywood studio executives. The 12 composer participants for this year's program were revealed today.

For football fans across the globe, all roads lead to the 2018 FIFA World Cup, now taking place in Russia. And while the thrill and excitement of the games ensue, The Workers Cup by Adam Sobel is set to premiere on the PBS documentary series POV on Monday, July 9 at 10 p.m. (check local listings), the day before the first game of the semifinals.

POV recently acquired the U.S. broadcast rights for306 Hollywood by Elan and Jonathan Bogarín.  The film will join POV's early 2019 schedule with AmDoc/POV Co-production Minding the Gap by Bing Liu, which announced last week a Hulu Originals acquisition for an August 2018 theatrical and streaming release. These 2019 films build on POV's recent announcements regarding the acquisition of On Her Shoulders and The Silence of Others.

The International Centre for Women Playwrights (ICWP) today announced its 2018 50/50 Applause Awards, honoring theaters that produce plays written in equal measure by women and men. At the same time, the Centre finds that the vast majority of theaters around the world are coming up short in terms of gender equity.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Meryl Streep will star in The Laundromat, a drama based on the Panama Papers that Steven Soderbergh will direct.

Edward Albee's Three Tall Women will play a special Midnight Performance as a benefit for The Actors Fund. The production, directed by Joe Mantello, opened on Broadway on March 29 to ecstatic reviews. Last week, Mantello's production of The Boys in the Band started previews on Broadway. To celebrate their director and the vital work of The Actors Fund, the entire cast of The Boys in the Band will host the Midnight Performance of Three Tall Women,

The Actors' Gang Presents ANGELS, DEVILS AND OTHER THINGS, an evening of eleven original short plays written and directed by The Actors' Gang ensemble that begins previews on Thursday, May 17, has its world premiere on Saturday, May 19 and runs through Saturday, June 16, 2018.
