 The 5th Avenue Theatre has announced an incredible six-show lineup for its 201920 season. First, The 5th will stage a lavish production of Austen's Pride, A New Musical of Pride and Prejudice. For the holidays, The 5th will create a brand new staging of Shrek The Musical, which premiered at The 5th in 2008. The New Year kicks off with Stu for Silverton, which continues its developmental journey as a part of The 5th's New Musical Development Program. Next comes a joyful 5th Avenue Theatre original production of Sister Act, followed by an exclusive, limited two-week engagement of Once On This Island. The season will close with an original staging of the epic masterpiece, Evita. Additionally, The 5th will host a one-week run of the national tour of Jersey Boys.

The Actors Fund will hold its Annual Gala on Monday, April 29, 2019. The evening will celebrate Tony Award-winning playwright and actor Harvey Fierstein; Chairman & CEO of the John Gore Organization and Tony Award-winning producer and acclaimed director John Gore; International President of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees and International labor leader and community advocate Matthew D. La Cage aux Folles is adapted by Harvey Fierstein with music and original lyrics by Jerry Herman, translated and directed by Artistic Director Anthony Chan, with Cantonese lyrics translated by Chris Shum. The production is choreographed by Mohamed Drissi with music director Edgar Hung and singing supervisor Beilosi Fung. A 23-strong cast is led by guest artist Pichead Amornsomboon and Ko Hon Man, Jordan Cheung, Lau Shau Ching and Mercy Wong. The Band & Stars behind of the cult hit GAY BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN will reunite at 7 p.m. on Monday, October 22nd for one night only at Stage 2 of Rockwood Music Hall! The concert will star Emma Hunton (Spring Awakening), Ashley Kate Adams (La Cage Aux Folles), Ari McKay Wilford (Once), Maggie Politi ("Brain Teasers") & Billy Butler (The Brechtones) who will be stepping back into their roles respectively. They will be joined by Dan Domenech (Smokey Joe's Cafe) and by fellow GBoF alums Marissa Rosen (The Other Josh Cohen), Brittany Mack (Beehive), Darryl Winslow (Avenue Q), Joshua Paul Moore & Hayley Nystrom.

Westport Country Playhouse stages "Man of La Mancha," the Tony Award-winning musical about Don Quixote's quest for "The Impossible Dream," now playing through October 14. Directed by Mark Lamos, Westport Country Playhouse artistic director, the story of Quixote's battle for good and the love of his fair maiden is written by Dale Wasserman, with music by Mitch Leigh, and lyrics by Joe Darion.

Arthur Laurents was best known for his work as librettist on Gypsy and West Side Story, but was also well known as a playwright, having won a Tony Award® for Hallelujah, Baby! in 1968. Later as a director, he was Tony-nominated for Gypsy in 1975 (and the 2008 revival) as well as the original 1984 La Cage Aux Folles.

Producers Ryan Murphy and David Stone have announced that Charlie Carver ('The Leftovers,' 'Teen Wolf') will complete the cast of the 50th Anniversary production of Mart Crowley's groundbreaking play, The Boys in the Band. Carver will play the role of Cowboy.

Skylight Music Theatre Artistic Director Ray Jivoff today announced the full cast, creative team and band for Zombies from The Beyond, an out-of-this-world musical comedy written and composed by Milwaukee native James Valcq. Zombies from The Beyond will be presented February 2-18, 2018 in Skylight's beautiful Cabot Theatre.

Today Juan Drigo Ricafort announces the release of the record single 'The Council Has Spoken,' featuring two-time Tony Award nominee Robin de Jes s (Original 2008 Broadway cast of IN THE HEIGHTS, 2010 Broadway revival of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, and musical film CAMP). Inspired by the story of Star Wars, 'The Council Has Spoken' is a rap opera born out of Ricafort's own influences, including trap hip-hop, contemporary musical theatre, and short-form audio drama.

Roundabout Theatre Company - in association with Chocolate Factory Productions and Sonia Friedman Productions - has announced the full cast joining Tom Hollander in the first Broadway revival of Tom Stoppard's Tony Award-winning play Travesties.

Record producer Thomas Z. Shepard has won twelve Grammy awards for producing the original cast albums of shows like Victor/Victoria, Ain't Misbehavin' and La Cage Aux Folles. She went on to originate the role of Olive in BULLETS OVER BROADWAY and Evelyn in AMERICAN PSYCHO. On television, she is well known for her work on THE GOOD FIGHT, MASTERS OF SEX, and GRAVES.

Marti Webb is to join John Partridge and Adrian Zmed in the first ever UK tour of the Tony and Olivier award-winning LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, when it arrives at the King's in Glasgow from, 25-29 July 2017
