Literally translated, La Cage aux Folles means 'the cage of mad women'. This seems an apt description for the characters and audience alike in Martin Connor's latest production. Funny and flirty, hysteria sweeps through the women and men in attendance and no doubt will the country, as the musical tours the UK for the first time.

The Tony Award-winning Hartford Stage, under the leadership of Darko Tresnjak, Artistic Director, and Michael Stotts, Managing Director, presents William Shakespeare's magical masterwork, The Tempest, directed by Darko Tresnjak, playing now through June 10, 2012 (press opening: Wednesday, May 16 at 7:30pm). Tony Award nominee Daniel Davis, best known for his recent NYC roles in Classic Stage's The Cherry Orchard, Lincoln Center's The Invention of Love, and the 2004 Broadway revival of La Cage aux Folles, as well as six seasons as Niles the Butler on TV's "The Nanny, plays Prospero. The hit Broadway comedy, 'Boeing-Boeing' is coming in for a landing at the Norris Theatre in Rolling Hills Estates, for nine performances, January 27 through February 12. The spirited farce won the 2008 Tony award for Best Revival of a play, and has left Broadway and London audiences airborne with laughter. 'Boeing-Boeing' is the prequel to the popular comedy, 'Don?t Dress for Dinner,' which was presented by the Norris four years ago.

The Broadway Beauty Pageant crowned Michael Cusumano (Mr. Chicago) the winner last evening, Monday, March 21st, 2011 at 8:00 PM, at the benefit for The Ali Forney Center, NYC's primary housing resource for homeless LGBT youth. Michael received standing ovations for his brilliant interpretation of his Russian prima ballerina version of the film 'BLACK SWAN' dancing on pointe. A capacity crowd enjoyed the annual show again at the Peter Norton Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway (at 95th Street). The award-winning Tovah Feldshuh hosted the not-to-be-missed event The other multi-talented contestants were: Matt Anctil, La Cage aux Folles; Raymond J. Due to the fabulous increase of Musical Theatre productions in Brazil, CAL-Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras, the most famous Drama School and Theatrical Research Institution in the Country, located in the middle of the amazing Rio de Janeiro forest, opened a program of several Musical Theatre workshops called MUSICAL THEATRE DIVE (MERGULHO NO MUSICAL). Last week on April 20, 2010, Actor's Equity's David Westphal hosted the famed Gypsy Robe Ceremony for company members of AMERICAN IDIOT at the St. James Theatre. A long-standing opening night tradition on the Great White Way, the fabled Gypsy Robe is bestowed upon a veteran Broadway chorus member for each opening production. In what has now become a theatrical ritual, originating on Broadway 60 years ago, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES chorus member Dale Hensley turned over the robe to AMERICAN IDIOT cast member Andrew Call. BroadwayWorld was there for the celebration.

To borrow the lyrics from 'The Best of Times' - the joy was contagious, the entourage outrageous, it was hot and hectic, effervescent and eclectic at LA CAGE AUX FOLLES when, on Sunday, April 18, 2010, the cast made its way to the stage for the traditional Gypsy Robe Ceremony just prior to the musical's official opening later that evening.

Chocolate Factory Productions, Sonia Friedman Productions, David Ian Productions, The Ambassador Theatre Group, David Mirvish, Tulchin/Bartner and Jamie Hendry will present La Cage aux Folles with music and Lyrics by Jerry Herman and a book by Harvey Fierstein.
