Sir Colin Davis will lead the New York Philharmonic in Beethoven's Symphony No. 2 and Mahler's Des Knaben Wunderhorn, featuring Dorothea Röschmann in her Philharmonic debut, and tenor Ian Bostridge, Thursday, December 2, 2010, at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, December 4, at 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday, December 7, at 7:30 p.m. This program is part of a season-long focus honoring the 150th anniversary of Mahler's birth and the 100th anniversary of his death and last season as music director of the Philharmonic. A Noise Within Presents GREAT EXPECTATIONS, 10/30-12/19

A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre company, revisits CHARLES DICKENS' thrilling GREAT EXPECTATIONS with the West Coast premiere of a powerful stage adaptation by Neil Bartlett opening Saturday, October 30 and closing Sunday, December 19, 2010 (previews begin Saturday, October 23). ANW Co-Founders and Co-Artistic Directors Julia Rodriguez-Elliott and Geoff Elliott co-direct this production - which features original music by noted composer Doug Newell - based on Dickens' masterful novel. Bartlett was also the adaptor of A Noise Within's 2008-09 season favorite Oliver Twist. This marks the second time Rodriguez-Elliott and Elliott have co-directed Great Expectations at A Noise Within, the first produced during the 1995-96 season, winning numerous awards.

Casting is complete for Goodman Theatre's Chicago-premiere production of Tracey Scott Wilson's The Good Negro, directed by Resident Director Chuck Smith. Wilson and Smith have tapped nine actors to bring this historical drama to the Albert stage, including Karen Aldridge (Goodman's The Cook; Proof); Teagle F. Bougere (Broadway's A Raisin in the Sun; The Tempest); Tory O. Davis (Goodman's Magnolia); John Hoogenakker (Goodman's Rock 'n' Roll; Chicago Shakespeare's Othello); Billy Eugene Jones (Broadway's Passing Strange; Radio Golf); Nambi Kelley (Goodman's Crumbs from the Table of Joy; Victory Gardens' The Lost Boys of Sudan); Demetrios Troy (Northlight's Awake and Sing; Chicago Shakespeare's Richard III); Dan Waller (Goodman's Ghostwritten; Talking Pictures) and Mick Weber (Goodman's Rock 'n' Roll; Chicago Theatre's Shear Madness). The production will run from May 1 - June 6, 2010.
