Frantic Assembly today announced the full casting for I Think We Are Alone, a major new play by Sally Abbott (The Coroner, Vera), co-directed by Kathy Burke (Lady Windermere's Fan, The Retreat) and Scott Graham (Fatherland, Things I Know to be True). The work will premiere at Theatre Royal Plymouth on 3rd February and tour to venues including Theatre Royal Stratford East, The Lowry, Nuffield Southampton, Bristol Old Vic, and Leicester's Curve in Spring 2020. The production sits at the centre of a year of programming celebrating 25 years of Frantic Assembly.

Clearly, the story of a king who would, legally speaking, seem like the safest person in the land, but who nonetheless is slain, as is his lover, because their relationship is considered taboo, seems facially like a perfect vehicle to provide that treatment. But it simply isn't, or at least not without more work. There are too many complications unique to a royal situation, as this play cannot help showing.

This strictly limited, 16-week engagement comes to Broadway on the heels of runs at London's National Theatre and New York's Park Avenue Armory, as well as an engagement in London's West End. It's been a year since OVID.tv was launched by a collection of 8 top U.S. Indie film distributors. Since then OVID has been consistently adding 20+ titles per month and has grown its collection from approx. 300 titles when it launched, to almost 800 today. One reason OVID has been able to grow its offerings so much has been the steadily increasing list studios and distributors adding content, which now numbers more than 20, with the British Film Institute due to come on board next month.

During the latter part of this winter season, Shakespeare's Globe has been concentrating on Voices in the Dark: Pride, Then and Now, with a production of Marlowe's infamous Edward II running alongside a range of different events. The latest is a piece of new writing from Tom Stuart, which is a response to the Marlowe play; Stuart takes on the role of Edward in both productions.

 Award-winning theatre company Headlong, have today announced the appointment of critically acclaimed theatre and opera director Joe Hill-Gibbins as their new Artistic Director. Currently working as a freelance director, with a new production of The Marriage of Figaro opening at English National Opera this month, he joins Headlong in Summer 2020. Donna Munday has also been announced as the new Chair of the company's Board of Trustees and will succeed current chair Robin Paxton on the 18 March.
