Marc Bruni (Beautiful) will direct an industry reading of Glimpses of the Moon, a sparkling romantic musical based on one of Edith Wharton's rare comedies, Monday, March 11th, 6PM at the Players Club on Gramercy Park. In celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the premiere, this reading is an opportunity for producers and audiences to fall in love with this romantic and funny, 6 character, 90-minute musical.

A longtime advocate for music suppressed by the Nazi regime, Polish-Canadian pianist Daniel Wnukowski (vnoo-koff'-skee) makes his New York debut this February as part of a festival dedicated to the music of Galician-Jewish composer Karol Rathaus (1895-1954). Little-known today, Rathaus was a protege of Franz Schreker and built a successful career in Berlin before fleeing in 1932 due to the deteriorating political situation in Germany. He first migrated to Paris, then to London in 1934. He settled in New York in 1938 and joined the music faculty of Queens College two years later as its first professor of composition.

This remarkable production, Some Enchanted Evening: Richard Rodgers Tribute Gala, will be screened at the River Street Theatre in downtown Jaffrey on Saturday, September 1 at 7pm and again on Wednesday, September 5 at 2pm.

David Robertson To Conduct the New York Phil In 27th Annual Free Memorial Day Concert

David Robertson will conduct the New York Philharmonic in Vaughan Williams's Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis and Saint-Saëns's Symphony No. 3, Organ, with Philharmonic organist Kent Tritle, at the 27th Annual Free Memorial Day Concert, Monday, May 28, 2018, at 8:00 p.m. at The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the performance; ticket distribution will begin at 6:00 p.m. The audio of the performance will be broadcast onto the adjacent Pulpit Green, weather permitting. The program will be presented without intermission.

At its fifth annual Eight Over Eighty benefit gala, The New Jewish Home will pay tribute to eight New Yorkers who, in their ninth and tenth decades, continue to live lives of remarkable achievement, vitality, and civic engagement. The event, at the Ziegfeld Ballroom on Monday, March 12, raises funds to support The New Jewish Home, one of the nation's largest and most diversified nonprofit geriatric rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and home health care programs, which together serves 12,000 older adults of all faiths and ethnicities each year. Over 450 business and philanthropic leaders, influencers, healthcare and eldercare advocates, and cultural patrons are expected to attend the event, which is projected to raise $1.5 million.

Great Music Returns to St. Bart's for the 2017-18 Season

Great Music at St. Bart's, the concert series produced by the Mid-Manhattan Performing Arts Foundation (MMPAF), for the past seven years has presented music in St. Bartholomew's Church, a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of New York located in the heart of midtown Manhattan. The magnificent 1918 Romanesque-style church features a portal designed by Stanford White and a grand Byzantine-style interior and two of New York's unlikely but outstanding concert spaces: the 150-seat chapel, an intimate and acoustically brilliant space that is perfectly suited for contemporary chamber music, and the majestic 1,000-seat sanctuary outfitted with comfortable chairs enabling flexible seating whose Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ is the largest in New York City and one of the finest examples of the American Classic Organ in the U.S.
