At today's meeting of the Playhouse Square Board of Trustees, Board Chair James Ratner announced Art J. Falco's intention to step down from his current role as CEO effective June 30, 2019 after 28 years of visionary leadership at the helm of the not-for-profit performing arts center. Olathe Civic Theatre Association gears up for the theater's first production of 2019, the musical SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE. Directed by Tiffany Coville-Schweigert and music direction by Betsy Bledsoe, the show runs February 8-24, Todays and Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 2pm. Music and lyrics are by Stephen Sondheim and the book is by James Lapine.

The former Art Director of Metropolitan Life Insurance in New York left the corporate world in 2007 to serve in various functions of Disaster Relief for the American Red Cross, deploying to national disasters in addition to supporting the 24/7 disaster relief operations in Greater New York. In 2010, she undertook an eight year assignment managing people-to-people educational and humanitarian programs for Road Scholar in Cuba, where she acquired extensive knowledge about everyday life, the economy, agriculture, arts, education, and healthcare.

AstonRep Theatre Company is pleased to launch its 2018-19 season with Martin McDonagh's dark comedy THE LONESOME WEST, directed by Company Member Dana Anderson*, playing October 18 - November 18, 2018 at The Raven Theatre (West Stage), 6157 N. Clark St. in Chicago.

From October 6 to 27 at the Upper East Side's Bohemian National Hall and Jan Hus Church, GOH Productions will present a Centennial Heritage Festival, featuring mainstage marionette theater productions for adults and kids and musical concerts for audiences of all ages. The festival celebrates two auspicious anniversaries: the Centennial Anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia (1918) and the Millennial Anniversary of the unification of the Lands of the Czech Crown, under Duke Oldrich (1018).

On Saturday night in Los Angeles, Billy Porter ("POSE," "American Horror Story: Apocalypse") hosted DIVERSITY x DESIGN, an Emmy season soiree celebrating diversity, inclusion and representation on television. Presented by BOOM Events, the evening benefitted DIFFA: Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS, the national non-profit organization that raises awareness and grants funds to organizations that provide treatment, direct care services, preventive education programs and advocacy for individuals impacted by HIV/AIDS. 

Performance Space New York Announces THE POSTHUMAN SERIES, its second themed season of performances and events, beginning Fall 2018. San Francisco Playhouse (Artistic Director Bill English; Producing Director Susi Damilano) announced casting for the final show of its 2017-18 Mainstage Season--Sunday in the Park with George, the quintessential Stephen Sondheim musical about the art of creation and the creation of art. Bill English will direct the 1985 Pulitzer Prize-winning musical.
