Based on the true story of conjoined twins Violet and Daisy Hilton who became stars during the Depression, Side Show is a moving portrait of two women joined at the hip whose extraordinary bondage brings them fame but denies them love. The original 1997 Broadway production of Side Show was directed by Robert Longbottom and received four Tony® nominations, including a shared nomination for co-stars Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner, the only time in Tony history where two people were co-nominated for the Best Actress Award.

4th Wall Theatre Company (formerly Stark Naked Theatre Company) opens its 2016-2017 season on September 9th with Sam Shepard's Tony-nominated masterpiece, True West-a modern American classic exploring themes of sibling rivalry, art as commerce, and what it means to 'be a man.' Like a runaway train, this dark comedy about two brothers and their mutual resentment takes audiences on a thrill ride into the dark side of the human psyche, with laughs and unexpected moments of revelation along the way. In its world premiere, the San Francisco Chronicle noted that True West is "clear, funny, naturalistic. It's also opaque, terrifying, surrealistic. If that sounds contradictory, you're on to one aspect of Shepard's winning genius-the ability to make you think your watching one thing while at the same time he's presenting another."
University of Colorado graduate Matt Murphy is a rising New York theatre producer whose breakout hit is now entering its third provocative year off-Broadway. He's also touring the show to cities like Denver, where it is now playing the Garner-Galleria Theatre through July 24. Promethean Ensemble Theatre will enter its second decade with three plays that view characters and stories of the past through the eyes of modern playwrights. Leading off the season in December will be Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde, Moises Kaufman's 1997 biographical play about playwright Oscar Wilde's 1895 trials and ultimate conviction for the crime of homosexuality. First casting is announced today for Broadway musical Side Show, which receives its UK premiere at Southwark Playhouse. Louise Dearman and Laura Pitt-Pulford will play conjoined twins Daisy and Violet Hilton in the brand new production, which runs October 21 to December 3, with a press night on October 26.

Rachel Lampert's THE SOUP COMES LAST opens for previews on Sunday, November 29 and runs for thirteen performances through December 13th. SOUP is a delightful and hilarious memoir of Lampert's 1997 trip to China to stage the first-ever production of WEST SIDE STORY in the Peoples' Republic. This international backstage story filled with miscommunications and cultural missteps has been a long-time favorite with Ithaca-area audiences.
Berkeley Rep presents Shakespeare's dark and violent tragedy on the Roda Stage. This classic exploration of the ominous side of ambition tells the story of a couple bound together in their thirst for the Scottish throne. Driven by an evil prophesy and his scheming wife, Macbeth kills the king and claims his crown, thus beginning a moral descent into a reign of terror. Macbeth starts previews Friday, February 19, 2016 and runs through Sunday, April 10. Press night for Macbeth will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016.
