Free For All, one of the capital's cherished annual traditions, will return this summer to Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), offering two weeks of free performances of the Company's 2016 production of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. Directed by STC Associate Artistic Director Alan Paul, whose hit production of Camelot has extended through July 8 due to popular demand, the production will run at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St NW) from August 21-September 2, providing more than 12,000 people the chance to see the play free of charge.

DESPERATE MEASURES, a musical comedy gone wild with music by David Friedman (Listen To My Heart), book and lyrics by Peter Kellogg (Anna Karenina), and directed by Bill Castellino (Cagney, Marry Harry), will play New World Stages (340 West 50th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues), it was announced today by producers Pat Flicker Addiss and Mary Cosette. Following critical and audience acclaim at The New York Musical Festival and The York Theater Company, performances for the open-ended engagement begin May 30th and opening night is set for June 13th.

Impressionist Alan Palmer will perform his musical FABULOUS DIVAS OFHOLLYWOOD for two nights only, on Friday June 8 and Saturday, June 9 in the 85-seat Broadway theater. This outlandish, outrageous and out-and-out fun-filled show by the creative team behind the hit off-Broadway musical FABULOUS DIVAS OF BROADWAY parodies some of the biggest and best that Hollywood has to offer. The Winter Park Playhouse continues to sell out performances of the immensely popular Nunsense A-Men! and has scheduled an additional performance Friday, April 20 at 2p.m. to meet the demand.

Spring is in the air and Summer is just around the corner and that means a hopping theatre scene is in full force on Long Island. For the past almost seven years, I've truly enjoyed traveling the Island to tell you about the amazing shows and extraordinary talent that we have. As such, below are some of my picks for this coming season. Ok, to be honest, I'd have listed every show if I could! Court Theatre, under the continuing leadership of Charles Newell, Marilyn F. Vitale Artistic Director, continues its 2017/18 season with Guess Who's Coming to Dinner by Todd Kreidler (based on the screenplay by William Rose), directed by Marti Lyons with Associate Director Wardell Julius Clark. Guess Who's Coming to Dinner runs March 15 - April 15, 2018 at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis Ave. The press opening is Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 8:00pm.

The professional cast of Nunsense A-Men! at The Winter Park Playhouse will shed their habits for two nights during their show run to bring you an evening of extraordinary entertainment in The Winter Park Playhouse Spotlight Cabaret Series April 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m.. 

NiCori Studios & Productions announces a new installment of the monthly concert series, 'Music at the Mansion", on Sunday, March 25, at 3pm at the Oakeside Bloomfield Cultural Center in Bloomfield, NJ.  Performers include Jennylind Parris, Bob Diamond and Lisa Viggiano .  The Young Musician Moment will be Katherine Stelma.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) Artistic Director Barbara Gaines stages Shakespeare's raucous comedy The Taming of the Shrew with a powerhouse, all-woman cast-setting up a witty and thought-provoking debate on politics, power, and love. Based on the classic 1960 film, book writer Howard Ashman pens - and writes the lyrics for - the theatre staple's heartfelt story. And Alan Menken's music is a fun fusion of 1960s rock and roll, doo-wop and Motown. You'll more than likely be familiar with the score's popular tunes including the title song and 'Suddenly, Seymour'.
