The B.B. King Blues Band are thrilled to announce their new partnership with The B.B. King Estate. This joint venture now finds the two forces working together to bring the world The B.B. A gripping story that explores how sex, violence, and affection can all be confused for love, The Dead Eye Boy was the recipient of the 2000 Rosenthal New Play Prize, premiering at the Cincinnati Playhouse before making an Off-Broadway run. In the riveting drama, Shirley-Diane sees her teenage son, Soren, as a painful reminder of her past. Her ex-con boyfriend, Billy, sees Soren as a reflection of his own childhood. As Billy tries to friend the troubled boy, the dysfunction of hard-core addiction and manipulation blur the lines of control and love between the three .

As the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts launches its 2019/2020 Season with record-breaking ticket sales and on the heels of its highly successful and critically lauded 2018/2019 Season, Michael Nemeroff, Chairman of the Board of Directors, announces the election of five business leaders to its growing Board of Directors. Acorn Productions, a non-profit theater education company located in South Portland, announces the company's first full schedule of acting classes in their new home at 528 Main Street in the Thornton Heights Neighborhood.The conservatory-style acting school, now under the guidance of veteran director and teacher Jared Culverhouse, is offering classes for all levels of actors from beginning to advanced, along with a playwriting class. Acorn's popular free Intro to Acting workshop also returns on Monday, November 4th. A collaboration with Portland's Snowlion Repertory Company rounds out the schedule with two classes taught by Snowlion's co-founder Al D'Andrea. Additionally, Acorn is piloting a new after school program at the neighborhood's Skillin Elementary School where LearningWorks AfterSchool will bring elementary school students to Acorn's studio once a week after school. It wouldn't be summer in The Great Auditorium at The OCEAN GROVE CAMP MEETING ASSOCIATION (OGCMA) without the harmonies, choreography, costumes and mellow R&B of the '50s - a hot'n'rollin' DOO WOP EXTRAVAGANZA - and this 150th anniversary year is no different.

Court Theatre, under the continuing leadership of Charles Newell, Marilyn F. Vitale Artistic Director, and Angel Ysaguirre, Executive Director, has announced casting for August Wilson's King Hedley II, directed by Resident Artist Ron OJ Parson. King Hedley II runs September 12 - October 13, 2019 at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis Ave. The press opening is Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 7:30pm.

Street Theatre Company will perform the regional premier of Brooklyn: The Musical from October 26-November 10.

Veteran Broadway press agents Jim Byk and Shane Marshall Brown have created The Press Room, a new theatrical and entertainment publicity office now open in New York City. Founders Byk and Brown are joined by publicist Kelly Guiod, who serves as Vice President for the company.
